TLoZ: Oracle Games Question

I have both The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons on the Game Boy and, also, I have a question ( or more ) for all of you ( if you ever had one of those games ).

When I was a kid, I wasted so many hours playing Ages. Due to this, maybe secrets between Ages and Seasons and the fact that I always acted like an asshole with Maple ( you know, the little witch that loses items around the area when you make her fall to the ground ), I have all the Heart Containers ( she loses Pieces of Heart sometimes ).

ALL 14 HEART CONTAINERS OF ORACLE OF AGES.

FULL ROWS.

Well... there's the problem...

I'm about to complete ANOTHER container, I need only another piece. I know how I can get the last one but the A button and Start button of my Game Boy don't work really well now.

For all of you wondering: No. The first Oracle I played was Ages and that's the first save file I made in that game, so I didn't started after inserting the secret after completing Seasons ( it gives you an extra Heart Container, if you don't know ).

Is it normal? Am I the only one in this situation? Did someone got the extra container? And what happens when you do?

Sorry if somehow I looked like a noob, I really never asked to anyone about this.

EDIT: The Start Button works, it just need a bit more pressure than the other buttons.

I'm not sure what's up with that, but I don't think that you can get anymore heart containers than max. There may be a few extra heart pieces by mistake, but without glitching you should never get enough for a 15th heart.

Maple only has 1 heart piece, by the way. Once you take it, she'll never drop another again.

I knew that. Maybe I glitched the game, but I don't know how.

The missing piece is the one on the top of the mountains at north of Labrynna ( I don't remember their names ).

Ooooh. I see what's going on. if you get that, your hearts will move over to allow 16 heart containers, which you can get in a linked game. Highest possible unlinked is 15, IIRC.
