Canada isn't doing too well:

Fire in Slave Lake Alberta, Flooding in Richelieu Quebec (near Montreal)...

A city north of Slave Lake was told to evacuate too! I live next to Ottawa so I'm nowhere near the 2 disaster zones.

Oh shnap. Red Earth north of Slave Lake is told to evacuate. What's worse, there's an oil field between it and the fire which is still pretty far.

Well, good Canadian news is that the end of the Manitoba flood is coming to an end.

Yeah, apparently there's been some criticism that they kind of botched up the evacuation procedure by announcing it too late or something. I haven't really followed that story enough. :/

Natural disasters are some pretty scary stuff. Hopefully everyone in Alberta and Quebec will be safe and the damage is minimal.

I'd hate to have a flood over here, my computer is in my basement DX

All they're missing is the faultline in Vancouver to get all quakey and we're set.

*lives on the west coast, would prefer that not to happen*

Many of these problems are caused by people who decide it's a really good idea to live in a place without making sure it's not sitting on top of the largest active volcano in the world first (Atlantis anyone?)

I know of this place where at random intervals, the floor just caves in and a bottomless pit the diameter of a road appears out of no-where, my thoughts on the subject is, why in the name of what-ever deity would you live there?

Eh, because you didn't know there was the the possibility of sinkholes there? It's not like there was a sign there when people first got there, saying "Danger! Please move on.".

It's not that hard to abandon the settlement process, there are ghost towns all over the place (At least in my country), there's even one which was uncomfortably close to my old house, every poor soul who tried staying there died in a freak accident, be it tripping down the stairs or having a saw-wheel break off and tear your insides to shreds. (Of course this is in a country were dark magic is as real as floor you walk on)

...none of Canada's current issues are particularly volcano-related.
