Sabre
These hackers suck. Erm, you do know they were shut down right? One of them was arrested and is trying to claim autism made him do it, which is bollocks. The rest it turned out, were teens using scripts going after 'easy' targets, or claiming to have done more damage then they have. Eventually real hackers hacked them back, police tracked some down, and recently they were shut down completely. They claimed they ended volenteraly, but it's like the Black Knight in monty python having all his limbs cut off, then calling it a draw.

kkstarfox
It used to be back in the day that computer companies used to hire hackers to test there computer security. I'd imagine they still do that today. But who knows. Either way if they got caught and thrown in jail that is the end of that.

Tailsz
One of them was arrested and is trying to claim autism made him do it One would have to question how they did all of this with autism. At least they've been stopped. That's really all that matters.

When Sony removed the ability to install third party opperating systems on PS3, Geohot hacked it back in. This had the side effect of allowing piracy to run rampant. It's more complex then that, but that's not important. What is important is that sony hired him to work on something for their mobile devision. Nope.
One would have to question how they did all of this with autism. It's not that, but claiming that "autism made me do it" is, by itself, laughably stupid as hell. ( I'm not sure, but I also think it's kinda offensive )

Basically, these consultants try to break-in to their client's networks, usually succeed, and then report how the got in and recommendations on fixes. Social engineering is a powerful tool.
