I had a spanish teacher once who said that if she could drop her students off in the middle of mexico for a week theyd learn spanish real quick. Speak it or die narrows your options down a whole lot.

Oh c'mon. Mexico's pretty tame compared to other Spanish speaking sites you could be dropped on :P

I'd hate to be dropped in the middle of Mexico without knowing the language. Sounds like a nightmare.

V'been dropped at the World Fair in Hannover once, with barely basics of german and no english at all (I learnt german first at school).

No fun at all! D:

If you wanna get technical, 1. I speak English pretty well, of course, since that's the language I learned as a kid lol I can understand some Spanish, and I'm currently trying to learn more.

I'm going to say 2, English and Japanese 日本語, but I'm not all that fantastic at Japanese.
