Yeah, I think the nunchuk combination controller is a must. I can't see any other way that that.

Um, I think the D-Pad would be better suited for loops and immelmans(U-turns).

To fire the lasers, you have to throw the remote at the screen!

Sorry. -_-

Depending on how strong the laser you want it to be you can only shoot one laser. For instance:

Me: OMG, like Star Wolf is gonna kill me. Time for the super laser beam attack. YOU CAN'T KILL ME STAR WOLF! I Got the strongest lasers!

*Throws like an NFL Quaterback*

BOOM!

Me: Dangit, my TV has a permanent dent in it......

I would do something like that.....

I like the idea that where you point is where the arwing moves to and aims

Twisting the controller quickly would do a barrel roll but a slower twist would allow you to go sideways. The D-pad can be for loops and u-turns and to boost, you flick with the controller (Quickly thrust the controller and then take it back to original position) anf pull back to brake. I think Assault saw a potentially good ground combat but aiming was too difficult (Not for me, I used dual stick controls, SOOOO much better) So if Nintendo does another third person, on-foot parts included in SFWii, The controls could possibly not need the nunchaku. Controls could be on the D-pad, B would be shoot, A would be action (I think we need an action button) 1 or 2 could be change weapon and you can taunt by holding A. By the look of the sort of final touches on the controller, B looks to be pressure sensetive so I think that if you have a sniper, you could half-press to Zoom in andmove the controller forward for more zoom and then full press to shoot. Pointing would be where you are aiming, twisting the controller would be a roll, pulling the controller upwards could be a jump and taunt (we need to be able to taunt) would be a shake of the controller. I guess you could also have a mode where moving would be, moving the controller forward would move your character forward, like a control stick but not as restricting, the controller would know where the default area is so it would stop your character's movements when it is in the default area. It sounds stupid, but if you think about it, it could work because watching your character movements would give you a sense of immersion and you would probably be able to get back to the default area quite easily

Damn, wrote too much but please at least skim read!!!

I read it all and the on-foot sounds nice, but what you're saying to move with only one controller sounds a bit, well it wouldn't work too well with the D-pad I think. I guess if it worked with MPH it can work here, but analog is more comfortable to use.

Y'Know, your controls for the Arwing are quite at the same level as what the game designers are gonna come up with. I guess you can just do without the Nunchuk control.

I dunno if there would be an "On-Foot" segment though, but if there was the taunt's not necessary. You're just giving the computer a reason to shoot you dead. And I find them quite annoying. Especially if they are corny. (I'm not saying who's)

I think it would work well if you pointed the remote around to move the Arwing. The remote buttons could be used for shooting lasers and bombs. You could hold the numchuku stick down to brake and up to boost. To lean the Arwing you could hold the remote sideways. Rolling might be done by twisting the remote back and forth quickly. To sumersault the numchuku stick could be quickly flicked up then down.

You know, it would get kind of old after awhile, having to go and pick up the remote every time you shoot something.

Knowing me, I'd miss the TV and break a window. Or smack the dog. Arf!

Yeah, taunt isn't necessary but its annoying when people do their taunt after they kill you. I knew you guys probably wouldn't react too well to the onfoot controls but if it was an option, I would recommend trying it because, sure, maybe the first time it would be difficult but after a while, it would become almost natural and really good, and like I said before, like a control stick but with more freedom. Trust me, It would work because you won't need to move it too far, just reach out a bit from your natural position of holding the controller and that would be the command to move forward. Ugh, I need a demo of it to really show how good it could be.

You don't sound very convinced! Well, if that really doesn't work, you can always use the D-Pad, my problem with that is that the A and B buttons are so close to it that it might make it difficult to move and shoot... But I guess if A is action, it should be alright. HEY! I just had an idea for explaining my idea for moving, Imagine you have a PC game (From a First person, or third person perspective, whichever you prefer) where you move forward by moving the mouse forward, making your character move forward into a run due to the distance the mouse is from its default position. As you pull the mouse back, your character slows down as well, till he eventually stops. Strafing can be done by moving the mouse sideways and you can move in all directions simply by moving the mouse in that direction and depending on how far you move it is how fast the character will go. This is similar to the Wii controller but to look and turn, you point the controller, now who can honestly say that they don't think this will work?

Lol, ok then. I wonder if you would be able to customize controls so you could use my idea? That would be cool. I really hope that the Star Fox Wii has on-foot, that was probably my favourite aspect of Star Fox Assault. Oh and I said that you didn't sound very convinced, but if you understand, then I can't really do anything more. I have found a possible flaw in it though: Pointing may be hard to do if you're moving the controller as well. Hmm, well I'm sure with practise, you could do it properly. Jumping could be a problem too, a button could be used for that.
