  1. 1. Have you seen Dr. Who before? What do you think about the franchise?

    • Yes, and I think its bloody brilliant; can't get enough of that Doctor!
    • Yes, and I think the show's a load; it stinks like the pub after midnight!
    • No, but it looks interesting; maybe I'll make an appointment with this Doctor...
    • No, and I never will; I can tell from a mile away its a disgrace to science-fiction!

During yesterday -- from 8 A.M. to 12 A.M. -- I watched constant Dr. Who on Netflix; just mostly because my friend was a Dr. Who nut and wanted to see what the fuss was about. I watched an episode of every season, and thought they were... alright; although...

I. Love. The. Omnipotent. Daleks; The. Supreme. Rulers. Of. The. Universe!! (Exterminate!!)

Blah, blah, blah; moving on. I kept going down the seasons until the 5th season (at least its listed as this on Netflix; don't see how since the show's been running for over 40 years!), and Matt Smith and a new director really, really, REALLY caught my attention.

...Ended up watching the whole season...

The episodes in earlier seasons always had a charm, but nothing like Matt Smith brought to the show; like his bow-tie (hurr, hurr)? I can't exactly describe it, but I'd go as far as saying, "Matt Smith and this new director made the show... cooler?"

What was your first impression of the show; love -- or hate -- a specific season, or Doctor?

(On a side-note; I made this entire Thread on my 3DS... Whoo?)

David Tennant was the best of all the doctors, including from all the black and white episodes. There is no doubt about this; His speech and emotional expressions, along with his natural charisma, portrayed the best doctor ever.

I don't think Matt Smith deserves all the crap he gets. He does rather suck, but that factor is only amplified more because he had to be the doctor -after- David. Does he suck being the doctor? From my personal opinion, yes. Do I admit that he is doing a good job though? You bet.

I like the series, and the situations are interesting, but I just really hope the next doctor is a good one.

I like all the funny and weird situations that seem impossible that he will make it out alive, yet he does make it out alive... In the next episode which causes me and my dad to debate what his great escape plan will be. :P

In Canada we don't have a lot of Dr. Who (Last I checked... Going to check again and edit the post) on Netflix and it kinda sucks. I wanted to see all the different doctor looks too.

Edit: I found the first to fifth doctor on Netflix... Couldn't find anymore. xD

I really thought it was good, but then with the new season, it just got boring....I preferred the ones before. The new doc. is ok, but I don't know, he looks a lot like the previous doc. except his chin is wider. He nails the personalty pretty well.

He has a wider chin? Huh.... Never noticed. I do agree he has a lot of similarities to the previous doctor though. Did a good job too.

I've recently got into the series and I'm loving it. Then again I've only seen the newer episodes that started in 2005 so I haven't seen any of the classic episodes. I don't know who would be my favorite incarnation of the Doctor since I never saw the old episodes, though through doing research I would have to say that one of my favorite episodes was the one with the Daleks.

BTW does anyone know where I can find a replica sonic screwdriver.......besides ebay?

I heard that show/movie used to be "the $^@#"! I heard it was pretty cool!

I got in the show around last christmas, because I visited family that was literally obsessed with it and well... I love it now! :P

(I was introduced using episode S05E01 but I'll get to it afterwards... ;) )

First of all, I've watched the first new season, the one of 2005 with Christopher Eccleston as the 9th, and I had a bit of trouble to get into it at first. I mean, that season didn't aged very well. Plots are kinda blank, I can't stand Rose's and Ninth faces...

Then I got a few episodes from the Classics series, and my favorites there are John Pertwee and Colin Baker.

And then... Oh then... I watched the 2005 christmas special, the actual first episode of Tenth, The Mister David Tennant!

Three entire seasons of rising epic awesomeness, with always better and better situations, vilains, David Tennant, music, SFX... Until the end of Season 4, when the torch got in the hands of Matt Smith!

Season 5, Episode 1 "The Eleventh Hour" is the first episode I was shown, because Season 5 was the on going one, and was the start of a brand-new arc and Doctor, and a rather good introduction to the universe of Doctor Who. At first, it looks dense, very codified and hard to get a grip on, but at the moment you manage to get on board, there's no stoppin' it! :P

I understand why people tell he sucks, because David Tennant put such a dynamic and a character of his own in the show that coming after him is a hard task. But I like him also. He got a kind of mad Oxford teacher look (bow-ties are cool! :3 ), is at the same time one of the youngest doctors ever and still have that very fatherly stance upon other characters... He just has another flavour as an actor that lacks a bit of what Tennant had but also brings a bit of something new that Tennant didn't.

Can't wait for the second half of Season 6 though! ^_^

I don't like it all thar much. Amy Pond was humiliating to watch. Now, the doctors are cool but the show itself seems kind of corny to me.
