What kind of music do you like?

A question I am quite curious about about you guys.

I like most music from the rock nuisness.

Metal, Punk, Indie Rock, Grunge, almost everything.

I play electric guitar either, so I can cover songs.

I recently can play the Star Wolf theme from SF64 :D

Yes "Rock" is such a generic term covering a lot of different types of music. From metal to soft rock, to inde and beyond. Metal is even ambigous. There is math core, grind core, steam punck, on and on.

These are crossover genres. Heavy Metal subgenres are more like: Thrash Metal, Speed, Power, Black, Death, Folk, etc.

I like all kinds. If a song is good, a song is good, regardless of genre, and the same for bad songs.

That said, my absolute favorite genres are most rock, Broadway tunes, and MLP: FiM music, from soundtrack songs to remixes and the like.

Oh, and the Protomen. They're cool enough that they get their own special mention.

Sorry it is really spelled Steampunk. It started off a sort of specific genre of novels, but people of taken it beyond that and even into an artfrom which includes but is not limited to Rock music.

Mostly Metal and various forms of Rock. That doesn't however hinder me from enjoying songs from other genres if I like them. Heck, I've been dabbling in most of the genres a little, with the exceptions of rap, hip hop, electronic, and some other smaller genres. Yet to find anything I like there.

Now that's a bit harsh. There's just as much potential for rap to be good as any other genre. Problem is, most rap is about money, hos and guns. But that doesn't mean all rap is bad. Just most :P

I don't think it's harsh, but I know that it could possibly be good. I could make some jokes about it, or point out rap songs that aren't terrible, but when the best they can do it's kind of bad. Much like JRPGs, rap has churned out so much crap I don't give it the chance now unless it's someone who typical doesn't like rap recommending it. It's also loaded topic as there is horrible stuff related to rap that almost always leads to flame wars, so I find it best to just say it's crap and move on.

Rave is another genre I don't like, but as I said in the shout box, Scooter is a rave singer who is so bad it crosses some kind of horrid event horizon and becomes good again. When one song has the line "Tie your shoes, yeah!" you know you're onto something special.

That's why I am a metalhead. They say it is just screaming, but that's Death Metal (not MELODIC DEATH METAL, as Children of Bodom). In Metal, those artists have talent.
