You're missing out. His version of Hurt is definitive. He turns an emo whiney song into something great. The song Rusty Cage is also awesome from him. Again, turning a fairly poor song into something bad arse.

Indie is a sub-genre, if you see it as a noun. The adjective is when referring to independent record labels. So we're both right.
