kkstarfox
Me personally, I like Melee the best. It was as if the Game Cube controller was designed for that specific game in mind. The controlling was awesome, the new material was awesome. The memories spent playing it were also awesome. But which was your favorite? And why? LoneWolf
SSB64 was the best.
Dr. Orange
SSB:B all the way. Sure it was on the Wii. But it still Kicked-ass with it's good graphics and storyline. And something while Vacuuming my living room, I go to the sound test and just play some of mai favorite songs. :D
Guest Mr. Nintendo
I liked Melee and the N64 SSB games alot. Not saying that Brawl is bad or anything with it's grahpics and 2 guest characters, I just don't think it would get any better than Melee or SSB64. Fureox
I've always bee a huge fan of SSB64, even though you could win by doing nothing but grabbing and throwing with "R" Once Melee came out, it became my new favorite. So many more characters, items, maps, it was amazing! I remember liking it so much that I hated Brawl once it first came out because I was used to the simplicity. Once I owned brawl however, I became pretty good at the game and crowned it my favorite. After all this time however, nostalgia strikes. I like all of the Smash Bros. games and can play all of them pretty well.
Icy
I think the "best" in terms of gameplay, characters, graphics, etc, is Brawl. But the memories from Melee, the excitement and amazingly fun times I had playing it with my siblings (never SSBB'd with my sis…just my brother) is just too great not to say Melee is my favorite. So yeah, SSBM. It was brilliant.
Deploy
Ugh... I'm torn between Melee and Brawl. I love them both so much... But... I'd have to go with Melee. The gameplay and speed are overall superior, and the hundreds upon hundreds of hours of fun from that game is just amazing. :)

Milkyway64
Brawl wins because it appeals to the widest audience, has the biggest cast, largest lineup of stages, a single player mode with substance, and a huge, HUGE roster of music, all topped with having the fewest bugs. Brawl is the best in the series, this is 100% irrefutable. However, one can still prefer Melee or 64. Melee had the best srs bsns fawkz only final destination aspect, and both have nostalgia attached to them, but Brawl IS the best.
Deploy
but Brawl IS the best. But it's still a matter of opinion in the end......
Milkyway64
It isn't. Everything 64 did, Melee had more of it. Same between Melee and Brawl. Brawl objectively kicks and stomps the hell out of the other two games in every single category that there is factoring in all audiences and playstyles. Not Necessarily.avi That's like saying (for example)- *Blank* is the best game ever! It's fact and your opinion doesn't matter. It has all these things that stack up to make it the best automatically! So you MUST agree that it is the best! Kinda Lame. In my opinion, Melee actually has better overall gameplay (I love Melee and Brawl equally, though), but again that's just a matter of opinion and I don't think people have to agree with it. Also, IMO final smashes are VERY unbalanced/unfair, so whenever we play Brawl we keep them off. They were cool at first, but there aren't needed. Milkyway64
I dislike final smashes as well AND I don't play with items too, but I'm not going to lie and say that Brawl is an inferior game. It isn't. I already stated that it has MUCH more content than the other two combined and is the most accessable. What you're saying can also be twisted down to "real men play super controlled games competitively by abusing exploits and glitches to gain an advantage" because face it, Melee was a buggy mess and almost all of it's metagame revolved around it. ThePointingMan
No preference, I can have just a good a time on 64 as I can on brawl, and I play all of them, I got nostalgia freaks, hardcore fighting game playa's, and fun time brawl friends, so whichever the person I'm with wants ta play, is good with me! I mean, Fox IS in all of em anyways.
sjrathbun812
Hard to say...N64 was good, but the main problem was the control sticks. Melee was much better. Nuff said. Brawl was...Mmmmmm I don't know. Something about it just made it not quite as good as Melee. I guess I prefer Melee's style better. That, and the smashes in melee and N64 are way more satisfying then brawl I guess. The final smashes are kinda cheap, to be frank. Espesialy Fox's and Falco's. Wolf's is a little less cheap because his landmaster doesn't last as long. Despite this, once we got brawl, we never played Melee again.

Gene Inari
Um... bugs? I rarely ran into any when playing Melee. He means the whole 'wavedashing' mechanic that is used in the competitive scene of Melee; a lag-canceling exploit that I don't remember if the devs left in or not when they were making the game. My vote goes to Melee. I'm not competitive with the game, but I still prefer the tighter feel it has compared to Brawl.
TGearfur
Brawl, Since Brawl actually has a REAL Story, online play, and a amazing assortment of characters. Melee did feel better to play IMHO, but it was not a better game because of it. Smash 64 just seemed too much like a concept design of a game, because it actually was just a concept. Harlow
Brawl for me. For me, it's one of those franchises that just HAVE to continue improving using the same format over-and-over again. And I think they improved over Melee the right way. I have this "saying"; "Nor the first nor the last of the franchise can be the worst of it" (the latter can occur, but it's very unlikely)

Fureox
The Final Smashes aren't really that big a deal lol. In fact, they're fun to dodge, and it takes a bit of skill to do so. The landmaster really isn't that hard to dodge... just stand on the barrel and when they start to shoot, jump in the air. If they try to fly up and kill you, just jump off the tank... when it comes back down, repeat, if it isn't gone by then.
