The other day something really stunned me.

RESIDENT EVIL on 3DS!!! Say i am not the only one who thinks thats great. I even bet it will be more horrific in 3D, blood splattering, heads exploding I bet it is more cutting edge. :)

There are 2, Mercenaries and Revelations. Must have been Revelations.

Yeah, Mercenaries is out, and terrible apparently.

As much as I love horror games, I'll pass on 3D. *Can imagine a monster reaching out of the screen* No thank you...

Although Resident Evil isn't really horror any-more. I liked it better when it was actually zombies, not a sentient undead hoard.

Guest Mr. Nintendo

I'm going to wait and see how RE: Revelations will hold up by the time it is released since I wouldn't want another "Action game that features Mutants or failed experiments and includes 3rd person over-the-shoulder view." (With the exception of RE4 reboots, remakes, sequels...)

I miss the good ol'e days where ammo was limited, voice-acting was terrible, you could die fast, you'd fight zombies, you'd play in 3rd person view and you would find it near impossible to beat RE2. (I only got lucky into beating the game....NO CHEATS!!!)

Resident Evil 2 is great. I've finished it many times. I remember when I first played it I didn't have a memory card.

In my opinion, Mercenaries is not terrible. I don't regret buying it at all. Also, there's a demo for Revelations on it, and it plays similar to RE4/5. The enemies you see are similar to the Regenerators from 4, with giant, spiked, club hands, and tube mouths. Game does a decent job trying to scare you, if you're into jump scares that is. Other than that it doesn't seem all that scary, from the demo, and unfortunately it put in a health regen system similar to CoD, albeit slower, which really has no place in survival horror. It barely has a place in FPS.

Health regen does have a place in FPS. I can see it working in a horror game but that depends on how quick you can die.

^ Horror games (At least the ones I play) revolve heavily around resource management. You have a very limited amount of ammo, health potions, and sometimes even saves (That last one annoys the hell out of me). So automatic health regeneration would just make it too easy.

It's amazing how much games change over the years. I was playing Resident Evil 1 yesterday. Took about 15 shots to kill 2 zombies, then I was out of ammo.

I said barely, not entirely out of the question. Though I do hate the speed at which CoD regens health. Or the fact you reach 100% health. BC2 had the right idea for multiplayer, you regen very slowly, and you only regen up to around 75%

However, not in a survival horror game, especially one that had to rely on resource management as a large part of the scare.

I see you all have your own views on the francise but RE is a great series when you play it enough times, I have played them all on every device and i do not regret playing them.
