Redeemer
It's... alright? Because I'm not entirely happy with it, the trees bug me... But thank you all the same. :3 I haven't drawn in a long time, I started again a couple of weeks ago but before that it had been years.
Sarita
A word of warning. My Bamboo (A Bamboo Fun); half the surface stopped working on me after 6 months. I assume mine was defective, because this doesn't seem to be the norm, but if you see any signs of that before you buy your new one, PLEASE don't wait and hope it will sort itself out. It wont, and by the time you admit it, you'll be out of warranty. :T I have a tablet... but I can't do much with it, as I said, and it's starting to spread. (I actually had an Intuos before I got the Bamboo, and it felt like a downgrade to me, ugh)
Icy
That new drawing looks great, Redeemer! I second the idea of getting a DeviantART account. ^^

Psygonis
Sara> The Intuos series are meant for the professional, even old models are way more durable than the Bamboo series that are for mass market. Actually, the Bamboo Fun are not as durable as the original Bamboo. Lighter, but not as tough... ^^' And yeah Red, you definitely should get yourself a DeviantART account! :

I didn't buy my tablets, my parents did, they didn't know. But other people HAVE told me that their Bamboo Funs have lasted much longer than mine did. It was just a word of caution. Psygonis
I'm sorry, I haven't read your whole life Wiki page! As a matter of fact, my desktop tablet is a Bamboo Fun, Medium model and it still works perfect after 4 years of service, but I believe that's because it stayed on my desktop... I'm pretty sure it wouldn't last long in my bag! XD
kkstarfox
Sometimes, when i see good artists, I wish I could draw. But then i realize that if I could draw real well, I couldn't write as well as I do. Everyone, I believe, is limited to a single genius.
Psygonis
Absolutely not true! People can *develop* many talents, even if it takes a lot of work to do good in each. And all artists began at level 0. So if you wanna draw, just draw. And if you practice and enjoy drawing enough, you'll get better at it eventually. I do believe that drawing induce a kind of details analysis skills that can't be bad for writing as well... ;)
kkstarfox
It is nothing more then a fleeting thought once in a while. Like when you admire an artist of any from, music painting or martial art, you look at them and go damn thats good, I wish i could do that. But drawing is not my passion, i love being a spectator. That and ask me to draw a straight line and it comes out as a circle :/
Sarita
Art is REALLY relative, soooo... I think it's kinda useless to think "man I wish I could do that", because chances are, there's someone that thinks that way about you. :3 On the note of the actual topic at hand (because I just realized I never commented on it!) I would really love to draw with you Hayley It would be fun. (Issue being tablet, I actually lost my pen, and they're kinda pricey to replace... and always after I replace it I find the old one)
Psygonis
(Issue being tablet, I actually lost my pen, and they're kinda pricey to replace... and always after I replace it I find the old one) I sympathize with you SOOOOOO much! I (thought I) lost my pen, bought another on Amazon and found mine like... a couple of days after I got the new one! XD Concerning scribbling with other people online, I think they are websites where you can do that, like iscribble.net
Redeemer
Sara, I would love to draw with you! Let me know when you get a new pen! :3 kkstarfox, Psygonis is right, we all start at zero. If you wish to develop yourself as an artist, then don't let anything stop you. You do what you want to do. That's what I'm trying to do right now, I'm trying to bring back the skills I used to have when I was in high school. After I left to go to university, I stopped drawing, and now I'm rusty and that annoys and frustrates me.
kkstarfox
My sister is a wonderful artist, but I just like admiring art. Just sometimes I wish i could do something that inspire awe in others. I like writing, and to some people I do that impressively. I am content with my talents If you want though you could read the book that I uploaded on this site. "Chapter Zero," In non starfox works. Yes I am shamelessly advertising the first 4 chapters. I need input!
Redeemer
Then I'll go check it out. By the way, I got Sai, so watch this space!
Sarita
I really like Sai, it gives vector tight lines in a bitmap format. It's love.
Fluxy
I should really download Sai myself.... Just too lazy to. *Dies inside*
Redeemer
Update: Sai has no layers, so I went back to Gimp to draw this outline. Going to clothe and colour it later. Hands are a bitch to draw. There is a seperate circle of hell for hands.
Xortberg
Hands are indeed the devil. Luckily I draw ponies, so no need to worry for me Also, I hate you for being so much better at art than me. But not really. I really love you.
kkstarfox
Ah, a Dante's Divine Tragedy reference for the win!
Psygonis
The shape of the hands are quite right. The problem is their size. Stick your own hand on your face, then compare with your drawing. These are way too small. Aside this, the anatomy is good (and pleasing!). ;)
