Star Fox Runner
Well this is a head scratcher for me. Activision announced that they were in fact developing Modern Warfare 3 for the Wii. Now don't get me wrong, I'm happy that a Nintendo console is getting this, especially after hearing that the DS and 3DS wasn't getting a version for once. But think about it, though the Wii U's launch may be around quarter 2 of next year and Modern Warfare 3 will be released in November, you'd think that Infinity Ward would go ahead and develop the game for a console that is arguably superior, but they're gonna develop it for a weaker powered console like the Wii? I'm happy the Wii is still getting a triple A title at the end of it's life cycle, but a game like Call of Duty would really help the Wii U's launch lineup. Any thoughts?
Icy
I agree somewhat…but then, they could be developing it for Wii U and are just not ready to announce it yet. The Wii U will probably launch Q3 2012 anyway, and by then the new CoD will be coming out so why not just do CoD9 on Wii U?
Steve
It's going to be a direct crapped port of generic modern warfare 3. I'm pretty sure they are not going to spend a lot of resources on making a "good" port, specially if they just announced it. Wii U will have BF3, and seeing that BF3 and MW3 are going brawl mode soon, it's going to be interesting if they do announce it. At any rate, CoD 1023434234234 will be announced next year if they keep the cycle going on sooo why getting the same older version?
Vulvokunvrii
Well they have to test it on the origianl first. It would be stupid not to test something new on something that has a similar configuration. That way, if ti does or deos not work, they would be able to make decisions that could better the game and it splay ablitiy etc. Im sure Wii U will get it. Patience pal, patience. Star Fox Runner
Seriously though, I don't really care either way, I just found it curious that there are no announcements for the Wii U. I do like Call of Duty (though I believe the World War 2 based games are MUCH better), but it's not exactly at the top of my priorities list right now. I think it's an engine thing. They already have the tech on all those other consoles, so it's a simple port job. Also, it might still come out for WiiU, but given that machine is looking very sketchy perhaps they are hedging thier bets?
Guest Mr. Nintendo
Activision is at their loss by developing a game to a console that has a weak game engine rather than a console that is more powerful and better.
Deploy
I bet Modern Warfare 458 will make it on Wii U.
Icy
I don't really get all the hate for CoD, really. Treyarch's installments, I agree, are very…bad and not worth the $60. But Infinity Ward's CoD games are very well made and well worth the $60. I do admit it is a bit overkill to do one every year, but with them cycling between developers, it's okay. Just skip the Treyarch installments and get the IW ones! Of course, this is all my opinion, and sorry if this is a bit off the topic.

"I'm all cool and indie, MW is popular, so it's crap!" is the mindset.

Sabre has a point, Infinity Ward as we know it doesn't exist as most of their talent left, so Modern Warfare 3 might be quite different. Hopefully they won't suffer the same downfall Rare did after their talent left the company. Also agree on the second statement, Call of Duty isn't a horrible game, I like the CoD franchise and it does receive way too much flak. My opinion is that it's not the greatest game in the world like some of it's players make it out to be. It's the fanboys that give the series it's reputation.
Icy
Alright, so MW3 might not be as good as 1 and 2, but wait, this "flak" was still present two years ago when Infinity Ward was fully intact. ??

The Tryarch off year/odd number thing has been around since CoD3 which was the first one they did iirc. If you mean general scorn, then no. Everybody loved CoD4, it wasn't until Modern Warfare 2 came out that the haters came out the woodwork. Remember, in the pre-Modern Warfare games world, it was World War 2 and Sci Fi that was done to death. CoD4 was a breath of fresh air and moved the FPS genre forward with it's story, atmosphere, gameplay and multiplayer.
