"User"
The replay on-dying cam usually gives the sniper position away anyways, so basically this is an upgraded sniper with no bad perks. I disagree. You might know where he is after you die but everyone on the team ends up eventually seeing roughly where the sniper is (those tracers make it pretty obvious) and if the team has any sense of teamwork can call the sniper's position. Yes it is, because if the sniper misses his first or second shot it gives away his position THAT much faster. Also, not every player on a team who gets killed by a sniper is going to verbally give away his position but everyone else on the team can see the tracer... "User"
If the sniper is annoying enough, people will talk. Aka, fureox kind of sniper Seeing a tracer also leaves a mental note in everyone's head as well that there is a sniper. Just last night for example there were a few occasions where I was pushing the cart up a hill and I see blue tracers over my head which made it extremely obvious where the sniper was coming from. Of course, it would help if I got verbal confirmation as well as seeing it myself but you can't rely on verbal communication all the time and if I can see where someone is trying to snipe me I'll take that extra feedback in ADDITION to verbal communication - why should I have to settle for being dead before I tell someone where a sniper is? The more visual or verbal feedback I get the better. Thus, the tracer is, IMO, a notable downfall on this new weapon for the sniper. I don't entirely trust the voice system in TF2 because often times I don't hear all the messages all the time (especially when many people are talking at once about something entirely unrelated to the game). I'd prefer a system such as Ventrilo or even Skype for that matter. Also, I don't report to my teammates every little development that is happening because otherwise I wouldn't stop talking. :-P
Vy'drach
Plus there's alltalk servers where calling something out usually causes someone to reposition/change disguise and what not.
