DZComposer
I am doing some SEO to try to improve our overall search engine performance. As a result, the names and/or descriptions of some things may change. Don't worry, HOW things work will NOT change.
Sabre
I thought SEO (I assume you mean Search Engine Optimisation) was a myth, and that search engines are designed in such a way to stop them from working?
King of the Shrooms
I thought SEO (I assume you mean Search Engine Optimisation) was a myth, and that search engines are designed in such a way to stop them from working? obviously not a myth then, since it's getting used and such by our very own DZComposer. DZComposer
I thought SEO (I assume you mean Search Engine Optimisation) was a myth, and that search engines are designed in such a way to stop them from working? What is a "Myth" is that if you do certain things, you are guaranteed a top search engine result. What is not a "Myth" is that there are things you can do that can improve the way search engines rank your site.
Sabre
obviously not a myth then, since it's getting used and such by our very own DZComposer. The myth is that it works, not that it exsists. Without getting into it, or pulling lenthy podcasts/sites about the matter, the argument against generally goes that search engines are designed in such a way to prevent SEO from having a significant effect, and actually change how they work if a technique is found to be successful to prevent people from exploiting it. So, if you believe SEO is a myth, is that it might not be worth the effort, resulting in only an extra hit or 2 out of thousands, and thus the various kits, techniques and professionals are all selling snake oil. The big problem is that their is no evidence for or against outside dodgy "It worked for me once!" type testamonials. And now you know. :
DZComposer
I'm not doing any of the oogie-boogie "SEO Magic" stuff. That's what people are talking about when they say SEO doesn't work. The stuff I am doing makes the flow of the site more consistent under the hood, and makes sure things like FURLS are working properly so that it is easier for the crawler bots to navigate the site and so they don't do things like index people's profiles. DZComposer
Okay, so apparently I broke something bad. All of the mainsite links are now broken. Reverting the changes didn't fix it, so I have to get IPS support involved. On a somewhat related note, I haven't been all that happy with IP.Content. It seems to have had more problems and nonsensical quirks than any other site software I've used. If issues continue to pop-up with it, I may have to switch to something else. Seconded, it doesn't seem to be as fast navigating for one thing.
