Hey guys,

I'm a freshman in high school and I just wanted to know what was your guys's worst and/or best high school experience. It could be as simple as graduation, or as detailed as losing your virginity.

Thanks!

p.s no im not a perv

Don't try to fight a senior, remember, being a freshmen means you are back on the bottom of the heap, and to try to mess with a senior, unless you have the guts, no fight picking.

Our senior class once barricaded the front gate to our highschool with about 14 trashcans full of horse manure. We then took all the tires off the school vans and toilet papered the entire campus.

Best was writing/directing my play~

Worst was...uhhh probably grade ten math class, just because I'm really terrible at math and my teacher was infamously nuts.

haha ok guys thanks for the replies so far....... i got to a pretty preppy kinda high school where there aren't many fights at all and i doubt the seniors at my school would ever barricade the front door like that, but yea thanks guys! and um im in week 2 right now of school and its been alright. it just kinda scares me how everything u do in high school follows you for like the rest of your life. anyways thanks again! and more replies would be very nice too!

Best experience:

I learned a ton about most aspects of technical theater at my high school (my high school was kind-of spoiled with an awesome theater dpt.), and it helped lay the foundation for starting my professional life, even in this crappy economy.

Worst experience:

Really dumb high school kids doing dumb teenager things, in general.

Best experience(s):

1. Subway down the street. Goodbye disgusting cafeteria food!

2. Loved all the teachers. They were all so kind.

3. Most classes gave barely any homework (Then again, I speed through most homework assignments in class)

4. Theater, Computer Animation, English, and a lot other subjects in my day.

5. Those long walks to and from school (When I felt like it. It's a 35 minute trip one way if I keep pace, which I don't)

Worst experience(s):

1. Hallways full of huge groups of people. A lot of getting pushed to the wall when trying to get to other classes. xD

2. Due to my shy behaviour and being moved from one house to another, didn't have any friends til May, June on my first year.

3. Grade 10. Got all the classes I absolutely despised because the good ones were full. XD

I don't really have a best and worst moment. Most would say the cool stuff, like the trip to London, or the canoe trip round the local peir. Worst people would say is the violence, the getting kicked out of various schools, ect. To me though, it was the boring moments that were the worst, and the fun stuff was the best. There are various memories I'm not sure are real, as I didn't become aware of their significence until much later.

You were kicked out of school Sabre? What for if you don't mind me asking :)

Best experiences - I was in a few of the school shows which I really enjoyed, and being part of dramatic stuff helped my self confidence alot :) I also really liked how the teachers treated you in my High School, I felt like an actual person rather than a subordinate that needed to be disciplined and punished for petty problems, which was the case in my middle school. I really didn't get on with my middle school and ended up being pretty much expelled on the final week, I had a teacher that was out of line and used to give detentions for stuff as trivial as asking to borrow a pen, and used to punish the class when nobody could xomplete assignments due to her completel illegible handwriting. I wasn't a badly behaved child by any means, but didn't stand for how we were being treated and ended up pretty much leading a student protest over social network sites. I was only 13 and very naive at the time, but I genuinely felt like we were in the right and fighting for a genuine cause, not one of my better life decisions :P

Worst experience of High School - I guess its just the general nasty people you have to put up with for no fault of your own, and the fact the school always seems completely oblivious to anybodys problem. Particularly notable example being one time I bent down to tie my shoe lace to find my pants split slightly, one lovely member of my class proceeded to stick a broom handle up said split and i'll let you're imaignation do the rest. Overall i'd say my High school experience wasn't as bad as some have it, but hardly plain sailing either, I guess its just hard when you're trying to recover from what happened at the end of middle school, and you don't really fit with many people so feel a bit isolated, Senior year was a bit better though as I found a nicer crowd who I fit with ( and also the friend that introduced me to Star Fox :D )

I don't get that. When I was in school, it was primary, then secondery/comp. I don't know any of this senior high stuff.

Officially, violence. Although my worst offences didn't get me kicked. Hospitalised a guy without touching him once. Had the police pay me a visit for that one. My shortest time from starting to being kicked was in comp. I lasted 3 hours. Stabbed a bully through the back with a biro. Insert spy or bourne joke here. The official story is I hit a teacher, but that wasn't the case, they just wanted me out of there asap.

Damn, sorry to here you had quite a bit of trouble, but I don't think levels of violence that far are necessarily the best way of dealing with bullies :/

As for the school thing - we have a three school system of first school (5-9), middle school (10-13) and High School (14-16), but that's just North Tyneside being awkward and doesn't reflect the whole country. By "senior year" I actually meant 6th form which I attended at the same high school, but I decided to try and make parallels with the same point in the US school system as obviously this is an American run forum with an international user base that won't necessarily know how sixth form/A levels work.

Was ultimately trying to avoid confusion, but I guess I failed XD

My take on the whole 'keeping stuff clear' thing is to not bother. The reason being A- they don't do it for us, but also B- any smart American who cares will look it up or already understand. If not, they will just ask. Plus, in my exp what confuses is stuff like pant v trousers. Pants for us being underwear. Also Creme Eggs. Totally baffles then. Basicly anything where there isn't a cultural similarity.

Finally, while run by Americans, this is global site. We have yank, canadians, limies, Le sexy french man, and a nord. Trying to keep all cultures up to date is a pain.

As for violence. It's getting off topic, but while people frown on violence, it is effective and given most won't bother to help (mediation does not stop bullies) it is a practical sollution. Starting fights is a bad idea for various reasons, but splitting someones skull is a vallid responce should someone start trouble.

Violence was never something I could bring myself to turn to. I don't even know how to punch. :/

But, best experiences? Finding my sense of humour, laughing with my friends, drawing in art class.

Worst? Getting jumped in the bathrooms after P.E. which resulted in 3 girls cutting my hair off because I was a redhead.

You're thinking of Ireland. <:

The best thing about High School for me was graduation. I spent half of my time in high school completely miserable.

How do you find a sence of humour?

I don't understand the worst, at all.
