Yeah, lets keep it at the max PG-13 people. Hasn't gotten to that level yet but I'll be keeping a close eye on this topic.

I'm saying that is the general consensus of the general population. I have been a furry in the past, so I know how they can be a total turn on. But the view of people when you try to explain furry to them is, "Isn't that bestiality?" At least in my experience.

Didn't quite catch on concerning which perspective you were speaking from, my bad.

And you're right, the general consensus of an ill-informed quick to judge general population is just that - ill-informed and quick to judge. :)

Tis a real bummer, but to err is human, to learn from your mistakes is divine!

Yes

I make anthro art, and enjoy viewing it

I also like the concept of it, and kind of how it seems to bring peeps together

And I'm a die-hard Krystal fan!

This is kind of a weird subject for me. I didn't anticipate this website having such a predominantly user base but I really can't say it surprises me.

I guess in the most technical sense, I am a furry but I don't like that label and generally try to distance myself from it. I don't have a fursona nor do I RP and I think fursuits are terrifying.

I don't identify myself as one, nor am I active in any of their communities, but over the years I've grown extremely familiar with the wide range of furrydom; good, bad and ugly alike. It more or less comes with the territory when you write for Star Fox.

But really, the answers for the poll depend on where one draws the line between furry vs. not furry...

*shrug* I think anthros are cool but I'm not a furry for the same reason liking black clothing doesn't make me goth. I don't base my identity on these things.

Well just as easily then you could say, "Yeah, you could call me furry cause I like Anthropomorphic art, but I am not a furry, I am Drasania Crazy psycho that'll knock you out". Lol. Not saying you are one lol, but just cause I say I am a furry, I am overall Nick, not a furry. Just a fun little thing, but I totally get ya. :3

And great find on the Nope pic then. XDDD

If you like anthros, then you like anthros. Simple as that.

WHY INDEED I AM!

aww-yeah.jpg?1300729762

THIS THREAD IS BACK!

And for all you that are afraid of being furry, did you know that the anthro fandom is actually separate from the furry fandom? There's actually a difference there, but I'm just not sure what it is.

If you find anthros attractive, that's just what you're into, and that's that. If you happen to come across some rule 34 that strikes your interest, then that's just what you like. Don't be afraid to like something that you already like, as that's kind of nonsensical. I remember at first I was horrified at the slightest bit of cleavage on a fur, and look where I am now. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, but it's just what I like and who I am. I certainly understand, though as it's comparable to me and ponies. I distance myself from them in order to prevent the brony-ness that is surprisingly instant, as far as I know. But then, it's certainly interesting from an external perspective. Although I really don't like horses or ponies IRL for that matter, as they make me sneeze.

But then, being furry is only if you want to identify yourself as one, and as such you're not if you don't want to be. I've found it to be very enjoyable in my run, and in fact, I find fursuits a little less horrifying now that I've seen enough of them to differentiate a good one from a bad one. That's not to say the bad ones aren't still comparable to Cthulhu himself, but there are fursuits that I personally like, such as Tanidareal's.

Also, furry fandom is different from bestiality, unless you're into that kind of thing. The bestiality fetish is a subcategory of the fandom as I understand. But liking half-animal half human characters is no different than say, anime, IMO.

Aaaannnddd... I think that's all for this post. Huzzah! This thread is back and User, you and I, we will BREAK these furs in hiding.

/watches thread and resists posting anthro pinups

So what, you can commit heinous acts of self-pleasure to extremely well endowed anthropomorphic animals pleasuring each other, and as long as you say "I'm not a furry" then you're not? I mean, I generally agree with the idea behind your statement, but there's going to be some cases where it's just denial. Sometimes, even if you don't want to be, you are an irrevocable furry.

This is my favourite post in this thread.

Thanks LoneWolf to differentiate furry and anthro!

Anthros are characters like the ones of Starfox, with opposable thumbs and other hominidae features, but wearing fur and other "decorative" non-human traits.

Furrys are animal characters, under their original morphology, but with expressive human-typical additions, such as eyebrows and some other traits to some extents.

In a way, MLP:FiM is furry, while Starfox is anthro...

I was more referring, Flux, to the obnoxious minority of furries that love to scream about FURRY RIGHTS!, or become obsessed with "breaking the furs in denial" in some kind of furry porn Borg mentality. Incidentally that's part of the reason why I would not ever call myself a furry; I can't stand most of the fandom.

You got that completely backwards. Anthropomorphic refers to ANYTHING with human traits, like expressions; by that definition, the cast of The Lion King, Looney Toons, The Brave Little Toaster and Cars are all anthros.

"Furry" is the subculture surrounding the love of anthropomorphic animals and has become synonymous with the creatures themselves but actually more refers to the fandom (or did originally).

I don't watch a show that has a magical "enhance" image method and tracks IP in real-time by making GUI in Visual Basic... :troll:

It's usually an okay popcorn show but goddamn I had to laugh my ass off; they tried to cover "l33tspeak" \/\/|C|-| |5 T/-\|_K||/|G |_|3K D|5 (and everyone online does it nowadays) and therianthropy (hypnotized bondage catgirls and dogmen) in ONE EPISODE.

I don't think of myself as one. Anthro's interesting, and I have my own sona, but all just for fun. I wouldn't wear a fursuit nor get into extensive hours of roleplay (I might do comments with my characters, but I'm an aspiring writer, so that's benefical in the end XD)

Okaaaay, that one was a bit borderline, but the second generation of "furry" Orangina ads were better, because not as suggestive, and making fun of old ads.

One thing that I always wondered (don't take it wrong), but it is a sexual reason for a furry always present? Or there can be other reasons? This whole thing is new to me...

I'll have to take a look at em' then :D, though I've always thought the [possibly] Australian Cascade Beer "Natural Order" ad was pretty good;
