Death on the internet

I'd like to think that if I bought the farm, so to speak, my closest IRL friends would eulogize me on FaceBook a little bit at least (after IRL eulogizing, of course!). I may even leave some kind of instructions at some point to do just that, just so the news could get here mainly. (Not anytime soon, as I ain't ready to die yet! ;)) Also, if there actually is an event that leads me to the End (Sickness, Injury, Whatev) I'll give someone the codes to my SFO profile to spread the news, as I refuse to just disappear and leave everyone wondering what happened to El Zorro.

But, I know for my art, I have all of the originals in a notebook I carry with me in my computer bag. The colored versions are all saved into My Documents, so really my stuff is safe no matter what happens to me. I don't know what I'd want done with the digital copies here on SFO in this scenario, I suppose just make them free to anyone here, or give the rights to someone or something (I don't totally get copyright laws k_e_animesweat.gif )

BUT! I ain't gonna die anytime soon, and thus won't have to worry about this for (Hopefully) a LONG time. k_e_smile.gif

I bring that up because if I died there is no one on the internet who would be particluarly upset about my passing. IRl, yes, internet, no. And I think that is the way it should be. Friends are best when you can hear them laugh, no when you see them "lol."

Skype, bro

Why use a forum based on social interaction when you don't care about interacting with people? Just because we're on the internet doesn't mean we don't exist. I'm sure people here wouldn't be happy that you died :/

Death...is everywhere. Most of us try to avoid it, others can't get out of it's way. Everyday we fight a new war against Germs, Toxins, Injury, Illness and Catastrophe. There's alot of ways to wind up dead...the fact that we survive is a miracle because everyday...we live, we face... 1000 ways to die.

I for one would have to make a list of codes and passwords to anyone who wanted to know what happened to me if I never responded to emails, messages and etc. (I would also tell one of my friends before I die to put the month and year I deceased to signatures on my profile or whatever else.)And as far as I personally learned about death... I soon had to realize that fearing something that cannot be escaped would kinda leave a hole on my life. So...whenever the time comes for me to go, I'm hoping to be remembered a bit from my family and some internet friends.

As I used to say to myself, 'Life isn't built to fear death, it's built for you to enjoy the lifestyle while it still lasts.'

Well if you don't hear from some one for more then a month or two, its safe to assume that they are dead for all intents and purposes. Though, if you are concerned, you can write a will an indicate that the next of kin should notify all friends (internet or otherwise) that you have kicked the bucket.

A month or two could just mean they are taking a long vacation or are having internet or computer troubles. After a year or two then it's safer to say they are dead, but still you can never be certain.

As for me I rarely find myself exposed to danger in the long term, but I'll inform you guys if I am heading towards dangerous territory. If I don't return within an amount of time I've set, I may not return.
