Chrono Reaper
It seems that everyone was discussing whether James was alive or not so I went with it. And no, the star is not there in Star Fox 64 3D. Either it was a glitch or it was intentional but Nintendo thought it was kinda pointless and got rid of it to stop discussions like this. It's not a glitch in my opinion, it's intentional seeing they expanded the ending deliberately to show that, (comparing venom 1 and venom 2 ending). I don't see it. Check again, after the score board window disappears after completing the Venom 2 level, look at the top left wing of the great fox as Star Fox zooms out. there is a faint light that pans from left to right above the top left wing of the Great Fox. No they didn't. 6:59 8:03 and make sure that after the score is tallyed up they're running at the same point. They fade out at the same time, and Fox and co are the same distance away from the camera. http://youtubedouble...orName=Skruller
Star Fox Runner
I've noticed this too, and I like to think that it's James flying away, but seeing how they got rid of it in 643D, it could be anything now. I still think that James is really a ghost, because if he were still alive, it means he abandoned Fox, and that makes him look like a douche. Fira-Astrali
I never managed to finish the game, much less it on hard, but I watched my brother do it a good half million times. Still, ive never seen and still can't find this flash of light you speak of :S
Chrono Reaper
No they didn't. 6:59 8:03 and make sure that after the score is tallyed up they're running at the same point. In Venom 1 the endings view was more enclosed than on Venom 2, which explains why it's the only ending to have the Easter egg. Still, ive never seen and still can't find this flash of light you speak of :S Look in this part of the screen after the scoreboard disappears. The red circle is the anomaly, the arrow is the direction the light travels.
kkstarfox
Its a speck, a flippin speck. Maybe its some distant moon or perhaps the flying spaghetti monster. This topic is about as strange and disturbing in its nerdyness as twilight moms. I would think it would bigger and more obvious if they wanted to make a "Was it real? No- couldn't be. Or is it?" ploy.

kkstarfox
Well then I guess the speck of dust on my shoe might just be my dead grandmother because i wish it was so. Yeah dead people don't come close to the objects of nature that actually exist. Jupiter exists, that speck = James McCloud no. Just because you wish it doesn't mean it will be so. Ravior_Stygian
It's already been established that there are indeed ghosts/spirits in this universe: James showing up to help Fox, and Andross' spirit (supposedly) destroying Krystal's home world. About the whole star thing, I say it's him. Doesn't really matter though.

Scourge
I still think that James is really a ghost, because if he were still alive, it means he abandoned Fox, and that makes him look like a douche. I have to disagree on that last part there. Just because he isnt around anymore dosent mean he abandoned anyone. Personally its my belief that hes just watching from the shadows, guiding the team when he can and showing up at the last second in the event things go screwy. He hasnt really resurfaced because there isnt a need for him to be there anymore, Fox is doing fine without him, Lylat has a new protector, and everyone's already signed him off as dead or MIA. CyanideX
I don't even think Miyamoto knows whether James is alive or not xD
chaos_Leader
The thing with the whole James McCloud stuff is that the writers made the point intentionally ambiguous. Whether or not he is dead or alive really is left up to the player to decide for themselves, and that's a good thing. It leaves wide open spaces for writing-minded creative folk to fill in the empty spaces.
Scourge
One cant help but love the ability left by writers for fanfiction ^^
