A bit of curiosity regarding some grown-up factors out there. My thoughts abou it.

Tobacco: One day, I decided to get the doubt out of the way and smoked one cigarette. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would've been, but I won't do it regularly. (I'm still really curious about the large, Cuban handmade ones)

Alcohol: Yes, I do consume and I like it, but I try to never get over the limit.

Weed: I'm curious to try it. Technically, it causes less impact on the body and it's not as addictive as other legal substances.

Not interested in tobacco or weed, not really interested in alcohol but I do view it as a potential sort of self-challenge. Get hammered and see how well I can handle myself and all that. I've never tried, though, and I know that sort if interest isn't always smart. I also would like to challenge myself to see if I could outrun an alligator, but God knows I'm not going to actually try it :/

Bluh, I'm not really for smoking of any kind, the stuff smells and it just gets everywhere, and it's an expensive habit.

Drinking I'm a bit more open to, I've had a few times when bored, but only in the comfort of my own home. Not like I'm gonna go out and do something stupid. And even then, I've only had small amounts, just enough for a light buzz.

Just in case, smoking something else than tobacco is prohibited is most countries. So keep the forum free of that crap. kthx! :/

More on-topic, alcohol is kind of a social-vice to me. I mean, I happen to drink wine with my food or have a fresh beer, but as a "vice", it'd only be with friends, where it's fun have an... huh... ambiance! :P

Nope on all three accounts - never have never will.

Tastes alcohol a couple times. Didn't like it, so I saw no reason to continue.

Never tried smoking or weed, never will.

My mom and the people I consider my second family all smoked like chimneys, so I kinda got used to being around it. Still, I have no desire to actually do it. None of them can breathe well anymore, and since I used to have really bad asthma I don't want to tempt fate for myself.

There is good alcohol and bad alcohol, and they are (and taste) nothing alike!

Good alcohol is to be sipped, experienced, enjoyed...

The bast way to drink a good brandy is with a square of fine chocolate, just a small sip at a time, after having hummed the glass.

Same for good wine, with a well-cooked steak or some fine fish.

People getting hammered just use ethanol as a pretext to behave in an unsuitable way! è_é

Psy's right. Unlike the other two, Alcohol comes in a larger variety and different qualities. Not wanting to force you or push you, just saying

In other news, I feel like I'm the sickest guy around. I always thought that you should try everything at least once.

Does taking small sips of every single bottle in my parents well-stacked drinking cabinet to see if anything of it actually taste good count?

I've never smoked and have no intention of doing drugs - even though I've been tempted to try it over 9000 times on my laser tag travels. Drinking is a must for any competitive laser tag player and I've had my drunken moments. :)

Using that logic we shouldn't be asking questions like "Have you or would you contemplate shoplifting?" or a bunch of other similar "illegal" questions. :/ Also, from a medical point of view, weed isn't as bad for you as tobacco is so it's hilarious that the government prohibits weed and not tobacco or alcohol (which have more long term problem potential). They tried prohibiting booze in the past and it completely failed on them.

As long as you take the precaution of eating before, go for it. You might find something you can get stacked more.

It's not only about the alcohol as I said in my last post. Of course, some of it has a developed taste on its own, but most of them are better experienced with something they go along well (and sometimes, it's tobacco...).

No, no and no.

I'm prone to migraines, and most of those migraines come from various smells. Cigarette smoke being the worst, and weed and perfume a close second. I can only imagine how much worse off I'd be if I actually smoked one of those (not the perfume lol, who would smoke that?).

I don't drink either, never tried it and don't intend to, because there's a lot of emotional stuff surrounding it for me.

Agreed on this point. I don't smoke weed, but I'm not against others smoking it; as it is much much safer than tobacco and booze.

I drink wine once in a while and margaritas when I have the chance, but nothing serious.

On a similar vein, i have only consumed beer as an alcohol, and very little at that. less than half a dozen

I drink, I love my fruity girly drinks and beer is fine but I can't drink enough of it to get drunk, and wine makes me sneeze.

Smoking is meh, I don't instantly ostracize someone who does it, but I never got the appeal.

Weed is probably more harmless than alcohol, I don't mind it all though my experience is limited. I'd rather hang out with chill stoners than violent drunks, so...

I don't take any form of illegal narcotics or smoke tobacco, but I do drink alcohol from time to time. Have not been drunk, however. Light buzz at the worst, and that was on my 21st birthday.

I generally only drink alcohol when doing yard-work as alcohol thins the blood and allows you to dissipate heat better, thus I drink a "Screwdriver" (Orange juice and vodka) to cool down, not get wasted.

I'm still in the experimental sage as far as alcohol goes, since I could only start buying it fairly recently. So far, I'm finding that I generally like darker, smoother beers over the brighter beers (Guinness is one of my favorites). I also seem to have a taste for Hard Cider, especially this one brand. Had a margarita once, I'd do it again at a Mexican restaurant. Wine is a little weird; I haven't really been big on wines, but there was this expensive Chardonnay I had some of once, and it was amazing. Still working on the hard liquors, but Scotch so far is a big winner for me.

I'm not into smoking tobacco, not unless I got one of those cigars that make the whole room smell like not crap, then I might go for it.

Not a fan of beers myself. I dislike the bitter taste (though I am getting more tolerant to it), I prefer sweet tastes, or more like hard liquor. Bourbon, whiskey, vodka (my alcohol of choice, personally), etc. etc.

There are beers that feel like a sledgehammer to the tongue, I really don't like those kind of beers. That's one of the reasons I really like Guinness, it's got the rich body and deep flavor of the darker beers, but it's not all that bitter, and drinks nice and smooth.
