Music Reccomendation Thread

El Zorro de la Estrella

Recommended Posts

(I don't think this belongs in the Rec Room, but Mods can make the final call )

I have created this thread so people can reccomend music to eachother.

Basically, just say a band/song/style/etc. you like and think people should try listening to.

A brief description would be great, and if you want to throw up a vid; well that'd be just peaches! ;)

I'll let someone else start, but I think this topic will be a great way to help us all expand our musical horizons! k_e_smile.gif

A song I've liked is Concerto in G. Were playing it in our Orchestra.

But to make things more interesting, I have this.

If you want to stay in the classical legends, you have the ode to war, the epic 1812 overture finale from Tchaikovsky

And the 9th of Beethoven, Ode to Joy, the European Union anthem

How about some instrumental Progressive/Technical Metal?

Spastic Ink does some amazing tracks to certain movies.

How about Bambi?

I believe this is Charlotte's Web.

I like drum and bass but it's not a very accessible genre.

That's the only accessible dnb song I know of.

Edit: well, okay I know of others. Just look at this.

I don't know why, but this part of The Firebird by Stravinsky always almost brings me to tears.

That Horn Solo, so beautiful, yet so chilling. And then the awesome chords at the end. I truly think it is the perfect piece of music.

There is something about an epic tone poem that makes me get goosebumps. Make said tone poem based off of Zelda music for full orchestra and choir, and just... WOW!

This is not just a simple orchestration of Zelda BGMs, it's a complete symphonic tone poem, with its own character. Many of the BGMs are presented in styles that they did not originally appear in.

The poem is in 5 movements.

I guess what I'm saying is that for most people Drum and Bass is an acquired taste. And most people don't have the patience to acquire it.

I best make a reccomendation as well then!
