Books are very powerful, for thousands of years they have been providing the human race with foreign idea and strange tales. many books even shape our culture and how we live our lives.

This topic is talking about those books. lol obviuosly i am gonna put a red wall book in here but here is my list: the kite runner is trualy a moving book. it really shows how we all have our own fualts and the amazing lengths humans will go to achive both bad and good.

the legend of luke really got me to admire martin. since then i strive to be honorable and brave.

i could go on much further but then the list would take up two pages XD . Have any of you read these books or any books that have moved you?

There's no question about it; 1984 is one of the best books that I've ever had the chance to read; it made me think further about my existence and the actions of our species as a whole; its organization, hierarchy, actions toward one another, etc.

These books get all of my love. Have not had a book hit such emotional chords as these did. I still need to read the newest one, "Tongues of Serpents."

I recently have read a lot of really great short science fiction. Some of it really changes the way you think about things.

This book really enhanced my knowledge of the universe as a kid. By preschool I was able to comprehend the idea of molecules, and was able to read more complicated texts.

This book gave me the final shove toward being furry:

The Boy In Striped Pajamas. It was such a nieve, innocent perspective on the holocaust. I cried so much at the end :(

A coyote's In the House: It may have seemed like a silly story, but I felt it talked about human nature, and you are who you are no matter what fasade you try to put on it.

Slaugherhouse-Five. The first chapter alone blew my mind. Everything after that was like the best acid trip possible.

Aurthur C. Clarke, 2001: a Space Odyssey.

That's the book (and complimentary film) that got me hooked into Science Fiction. If you want to take it even further, by getting me into Science Fiction, I eventually got into Star Fox. So in a way, that book is the reason I'm here.

There are others that have been powerful for me, but Odyssey is what really sparked me back into reading, and ultimately writing.

I say the number one book that has moved me is it has been around for thousands of years is the Bible. I like the NIV version. But I would like to get a NKJ sometime.

And the other books I would like to read but hadn't read any of them for a while are non-fiction books. When I go to my library (the fountain of knowledge) I like to look at pictures (hehe) especially the Hubble Space telescope pictures from Nasa's release.

I started to get into a little bit space fiction books. One of my friends gave me an interesting novel book called Rogue Powers (old book).

Horus Rising By Dan Abnett

Its about the Warhammer 40K Equivalent of the Crucification of Christ, The Horus Heresy. The novel is writtan to the highest of quality as per Dan Abnett's usual, and throughout the book we get a sense of the Warhammer 40k before it was grimdark. However, in a simple yet brutally efficiant way of reminding us of the horror to come, Mr. Abnett inserts the following lines at both the end and the begining of the book.

"I was there when the Emperor Fell"

Chilling to the bone, and its the first book in a series of the Horus Heresy.
