Arashikage
I like PCs, although technically, it's not Mac vs PC, it's Mac vs Windows, both computers are PCs because PC stands for Personal Computer.

Sarita
I like them both. It actually annoys me when Steve bitches at me because I use a Mac for my graphic design lab, and like it. It's a free Mac, idgaf. I run Vista on my Windows computer. No problems at all, on a laptop even!
Dublinthefox
I'm a Mac user. Since I am going for a degree in Graphic Design, I thought it would be best If I used a computer with a high graphics capability. That and I always get frustrated when trying to manage files and data on my PC laptop. Here is a discussion of 2 artists who talk about the topic in an easy way to understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtHAMnQjG-w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YHHuw60_o8&feature=related

Asper Sarnoff
Always been Windows for me, and took the step into 7 when I got my new computer. Never really considered Mac, which I'd pay more for to get less, and which I wouldn't be able to run a lot of the programs I use on.
Fira-Astrali
I'm definately a PC. I've used macs and they are a massive pain in the ass, and super expensive. I had to use garage band and there were several times when i had to hand in a project becuase I was so pissed at the computer and i didnt have the money to replace it, bc i would have trashed it if i kept working. And if I have to use final cut one more time... I have a Toshiba Satellite and while she's getting a bit senile she's still a great comp that i was able to buy without having to give up my first born male child :P

Psygonis
I'm a geek, so whatever kind it is, I'm a computer-person. And I like efficient computers, made for what I want to do with them. My laptop is a Macbook Pro. It's sleek, light, great autonomy... I can run all 3 types of major OS on it. Mac OS X of course, but I have a Windows 7 and an Ubuntu partitions on it, so I can run any program I use on the relevant OS. I browse on it, I work on it, I draw on it. It does everything I need everywhere I need. (And I always have a Backtrack Live CD in my messenger bag... :3 ) My desktop is a self-made PC. I use it only for gaming purpose (built with high-end components), so it only runs Windows (7 at the present time). It's all about having what you want available when you need it! ;)
jesseboyd7
Now see, this is something I'll never understand. When Windows Vista was released, I remember people raging about all the problems they had with it. I've used Vista and it's always ran perfect. Hell, I've left my computer on without reboots for months with Vista and it still ran perfectly fine. Sorry Wes for my little rant on Vista. For Windows Vista it depends how well you take care of the OS by cleaning file systems to defraging your computer to make it run well. And the number of application programs that are running your computer. Same principle to the other Windows OS systems especially 7. My parents use Vista and their computer and it is starting to run slow (which means i'm gonna need their help). But the main problem with Vista is power on resources. And Vista needs 2GB of RAM to run. But this artical says it all of the differences of Vista and 7: http://www.myofficeportal.org/the-five-main-differences-between-windows-vista-and-windows-7.htm PC. QFT. It's confirmed that Windows 8 uses 50% less memory than Windows 7 in idle. A friend of mine also tried a Beta and said that, on the same PC, it was actually running better than Win7. Some good news right here. I knew it! Thanks Sergiroth. I think I might get 8 later on but using 7 works well with me. (satisfied for now). I have a dual-boot system that runs both Windows and Ubuntu, what does that count as? It must be a PC! hehe I'm a geek, so whatever kind it is, I'm a computer-person. So you mostly like to use the Mac for media purposes and 7 for games? Thats cool! It's an honor to meet a computer geek! I'm currently using 7 for now. I used to have both 7 and Ubuntu. But I decided to get rid of Ubuntu because it was taking up my space on the 100GB on my HD. And my computer is a HP Buisness Laptop. I thought about upgrading later. ThePointingMan
I use a PC. Macs are painfully overpriced for what you're given and when something DOES go wrong it's a pain in the ass to fix or get fixed. My 17" Toshiba Satellite was half the price of the only Macbook I could afford yet it's specs were at least twice as good, not to mention its size (and its speakers oh my gooood I can hear everything). I'll take the "risk" with viruses; even if one does slip past Adblock or my antivirus programs, I or several friends can easily fix it. The only time I've had to take this thing in for the few years I've owned it was to get the cooling system and keyboard cleaned, because that's the one thing I'm afraid of doing myself. Also, PC gaming. Macs themselves are okay to use, and I understand their merits. My biggest issue is their price, honestly. But a good chunk of their fanbase is also just wildly pretentious; stop pitying me because I use a PC, please. :I /genericrequest Uggg Exactly my problem. My father bought a mac and every time I use it he says "be careful, that thing is worth 2000 dollars" and each time he says that I die a little more inside. My PC was 1000 dollars and every aspect about it is more powerful then the mac. The way I see it, most mac users probably never spent 1000+ on a PC because they are available for like 500 and less so they figure why would i pay more when I can pay less. You can't buy macs that cheap so when people buy them they spend 1000+ and get a decent computer and instantly think "oh wow this is so much better then PC." When actually they just spent a reasonable amount of money on buying a computer that doesn't suck, but they should have got something better for the amount of money they spent. That's just what i figure, I can't tell for sure, but whenever I see a mac user saying how much better their computer is now i always note that I don't have any of the issues the other person has because I DID spend a reasonable sum of money on my PC. I also find the OS's annoying.
Psygonis
I used to have a Dell Latitude at work, fully customed with high-end CPU, large battery... Lasted barely 2 years. Plastic casing cracked, used to BSOD because of hardware weaknesses, meh screen, OS making everything slow and unreliable over time and so on and so forth. I still have a G4 Powerbook from 2003 that runs smoothly like swiss clockwork. Of course it's a 1.5GHz mono-core PowerPC so I can't do advanced things I can do today on my 2.6 GHz i7 Macbook Pro, but what it could do smoothly the first day, it still can. And I'm the kind of person that doesn't really wrap everything in cases and pay attention about everything it touches. Mac: 2000$/8years = 250$/y. Dell: 1500$/2years = 750$/y. Just do the maths... (And I'm not counting the superior trackpad, the backlit keyboard, the slit DVD writer, the OS, and the style/durability of the metal casing... All these options that weren't commonplace in 2003.) People can't understand that even with computer, it's not all about the tech. specs... :/
Drasiana
A lot of it also seems to just boil down to your computer. I've had my $1000 Satellite laptop for three years, I've dropped it, smacked it around on the bus, and more. Yet it still works fine, I can still run a ton of graphic design programs at once, the speakers are like the voice of God, and its big-ass screen and HD are a much nicer way to watch movies than the shitty tv in my hotel room. And video games, which all run smoothly. I also had an HP desktop that mysteriously exploded. And my friend, who has had her Macbook Pro for the same amount of time as me, has had to get her entire monitor replaced twice, even though she's really careful with it. So... Arashikage
My dad is a mac, and it annoys me so much lol. Let's say I have a slight problem with my computer I built myself, but it's not my computer's fault. He will ALWAYS immediately blame Windows. No matter if it's a problem with the connections on the computer, or a problem with the router/modem, or anything that's not even directly related to my computer, to him it's windows' fault. This annoys me, a lot. If Mac users are like him, they're probably the most elitist people I can care to mention. Now I do agree, there are exceptions to everything, but this is based on what I've seen. I don't have a problem with Macs, I don't have a problem with the operating system, it's some of the people that use them and refuse to believe that PCs can be JUST as good if you have the slightest idea what you're doing. There's also the price. There are two facts in life, 1: The world is round, 2: Macs are FREAKING EXPENSIVE. I built a Mac on the Apple website, it had amazing specs. The price? 13,000 freaking dollars! I mean holy crap, $13,000, I could buy a car for that money. I built a Windows machine with the same specs or at least as close as I could get, the final price, just over $3,000. Was I paying 10,000 dollars because of the name? Here, why don't you see for yourself.
