And again, such things can be explained in nearly any way: If the G-Diffuser system was using the wings as "antennae" for the effect, then breaking them would reduce the effect. Also, you have no more idea of exactly what the G-Diffuser does than I do, I'm not saying you're wrong, but you can't prove that you're right either.

On topic: I'm wondering how it's going to work with the 15 playable characters. I mean, has anyone seen direct evidence that one can play as charactes other than Fox in the first player game? I'm not so sure. Maybe I just missed something.

Well, in one of those snapshots the the bottom screenshots differ in the display. You can play in other ships for one player mode. I'll get screenshots later.

EDIT: Here's some screenshots

As you can see, the bottom screen indicates that different color panels. Blue=Falco, Green=Slippy, Red=Fox (Krystal would probably be yellow I guess) and the Wolfen is completely different. I dunno if the 15 playable characters applies to the actual one player game but it definately applies to wifi/multiplayer.

When I lose my wings, I can still increase altitude. The areonautics simply served as a stablizer to make the Arwing easier to handle.

Yeah, but you always need to keep the nose up to maintain altitude. The wings make you fly, the G-diffusers act as a stabalizer, not the other way around.

We know the Arwing is capable of VTOL and I don't recall seeing any large thrusters underneath.

Go back and play StarFox Adventures then.

Also, the Arwing is an aging platform. Remember, James' team flew them. This is at least 15 years down the road from the end of James' team. I'm sure G-Diffuser technology has improved in that timespace.

The G-diffuser is not some form of gravitic drive. The Arwing still relies on chemical propulsion and aerodynamic wings to fly.

It simply eliminates the stressess to both pilot and ship when engaging in high maneuvering. It's not some "make a solid cube fly" device.

And again, such things can be explained in nearly any way: If the G-Diffuser system was using the wings as "antennae" for the effect, then breaking them would reduce the effect. ...

Okay... there were all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

And no, I actually do understand what a G-diffuser does.

I can't take it anymore.

G-diffuser. Three guess what the "G" stands for. Plus, the arwing can fly. When I was in my physics class, we had to make an aerodynamic object to put in a mock wind tunnel. I made an arwing, and was made fun of. BUT I WON. It stayed up like no other and it was made of clay..

So don't give us "the arwing can't really fly" thing. It can and would.

Besides, they mostly fly in space, where any design floats, you only have to worry about moving it forward.

And Zicka, sorry about picking on you, its only 'cause your keeping the debate going, but how do you know what a G-diffuser does? Pure logic doesn't get you anywhere. You're just guessing like the rest of us. Dwight's point still stands.

You lose altitude when you lose your wings, but you never hit the ground do you? the wings HELP you fly, they aren't nessicary. And you're using adventures as a guide........um.....I hate to tell you this, but adventures isn't a good source, Rare didn't intend the game to be SF, so its design on the arwing can't be heavily looked into...and I still am not seeing the large thrusters anyways

He means the three used when you land. But that can be discounted I guess since in Assault they don't use those thrusters. Or it doesn't appear to atleast.

I like how you missed my point. I never said the Arwing can't fly. I was saying that the G-Diffuser is NOT it's means of flight or maneuvering.

Oh, I see none of you are familiar with zero point manipulation or gravimetric propulsion theory. Fun stuff to look up.

So by your logic we shouldn't even consider Assault or Command since they follow some of Adventure's story.

"A thing that diffuses" and diffuse as a verb is to "spread evenly or to scatter" Usually it deals with light. If you scatter gravity, as the name would state, you deflect it, causing a floating movement.

Oh, I see none of you are familiar with zero point manipulation or gravimetric propulsion theory. Fun stuff to look up.

And that matters because...? The G-diffuser deflects gravity, no point manipulation or gravimetric propulsion.

You missed my point. Assult was meant to be a SF game, the storyline has nothing to do with the ships. Rare didn't spend much time designing the arwing, it was slapped on there at the end. Hince the dumb flight levels. Namco and the others have taken time to make the designs work.

btw, You're so a debater. What event do you do? I was in policy for a while.

Oh, and we're really off topic, we should make a topic just for this debate and leave this one in peace

That is the second of three definitions. It does not scatter gravity, It simply generates an inertial dampening field that protects the ship from high-speed aerobatics. IT IS NOT A REPULSORLIFT.

lol, ur funni.

Didn't spend much time? It looks just like the 64 version, except slightly stupid. That thing has a better chance of flight thn that horrid Assault design.

Just except the fact that I'm right. I don't want to have to pull out canon sources.

what?

alright, alright no more got it. Darn it, the topic comes up and I have to work...and when I get back its locked.

btw, when I said the policy thing. Policy was the debate event I did. You're on the debate team at school right Zicka, or you should be.

On topic. Why did they downgrade an arwing and give it to Fox? Its stats are lower than the regualr arwing peppy has...

^I know, shouldn't Fox have the upgrades? But, then again Peppy's awesome and you all must phear him.

That's my problem, he flies the Arwing 2, the only reason his stats would be lower would be because you play him at the beginning of the game and to make it harder or something he only has single lasers.

I got the Star Wolf trio's profiles translated. If you wish to see the source, go here, but you need to be a member of the Celestial Brushstrokes (an Ookami forum) to view them though. Credits to herumosu.

Here's what he wrote:

Leon Powalski-- A member of Star Wolf. His mouth is "bad", so that makes him the most reliable member to Wolf.

Wolf O'Donnell-- The leader of Star Wolf. This time, it is for a goal and to unravel various evil groups.

Panther Caroso-- A member of Star Wolf. He yearns for Krystal, and continues to fight. . . something. Finally, this time, will his wishes. . . something?

^^^ Hmmm, I don't think this will work too well... Better not happen. Back to the arwing, I also think its strange that Fox' arwing is Arwing 2 with downgraded stats. Where's the logic? But we don't quite know everyhting about the arwing, maybe its harder to hit? There will be some other aspect that changes our views on the ships, some other stat that they haven't told us about yet.

Hmm am I the only one who thinks Panther really deserve Krystal for the uncliche'd romance?

Oh boy, and Nintendo thought we'd be mad about the way she looks in Command, then they come up with this Panther thing.

Weeeeeeeell, Panther/Krystal would be kinda wierd but it's so not your average same old love story. Meh, I'm for it. More reason to feud and probably an expect a betrayal. :(

I myself prefer if Fox got Krystal and I'm sure Kit would agree with me on this one. Even if Panther got Krystal he would only keep her around him until someone "better" came along as Panther strikes me as the love'em and leave'em type.

Sounds like this could possibly be a Fox/Panther feud for Krystal's affection but knowing Nintendo I bet Fox walks away with his arm around Krystal.
