You guys ever notice that in the SNES starfox game and comic, General pepper with sunglasses looks like Moammar Qadaffi ( RIP)?

I'm sure Pepper has a team of sexy all-female bodyguards at his disposal.

I never heard anything about those body guards ever since he was forced out of Tripoli. I wonder what happened to them?

>Colnol

I believe you mean Colonel.

As for resemblance I don't see anything to suggest they look the same. But he is a General so it's possible he did hold the rank of Colonel at some point.

There's no resemblances, except they're wearing shades.

General Pepper is looking like a beattle from their sergent pepper lonely heart club album, not some murdering lunatic...

Of course they don't look anything alike because PEPPER'S A DOG AND QADAFFI IS A HUMAN. LOL JK

to be serious, there's not really that much of a similarity between the two. If it's only the sunglasses, then I can say he looks like anybody else with similar glasses on.

I don't see it. Just because he wears sunglasses and a military uniform doesn't mean they look the same.

On the subject of Qu'daffi, he sure turned out to be one hell of a creepy guy. :poke:

I sort of regret starting this thread. Part of reason I wonder is in 1992-3 when SF SNES came out Qadaffi was big in the news as he was in 2011.

Is it true or just rumor, that he sexually abused his female bodyguards? Again sorry for linking Pepper in anyway with this guy

I think the inspiration for General Pepper was more likely Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. There are other Beatles references in SF SNES lore, especially in the Itoh comic (which even directly makes the referece).

It wouldn't be the last time it happened. Bill Grey is named after General William Grey in the movie "Independence Day," which the Katina level itself is a reference to. Even the credits music from the film and SF64 start out similarly.

Yeah I know the Pepper reference to Beadles song. I just thought sunglasses, and image looked a bit like Qadaffi, who was a rogue terrorist at the time.

Heard about the bill Grey inspiration too. Does anyone know how he was depicted in command as opposed to SF64?

General P. wears "aviator" sunglasses. If anything, that's a reference to Douglas MacArthur.

Bill was in name only a reference to a character from Independance Day. He was a cowboy in Command for...some reason.

To be fair, he did "yee-haw" in 64.

Bummer. I preferred him as surfer/stoner. Good thing no one had any voices in command. I thought Peppy was the cowboy/ country fella?

Yeah, because a bunch of Japanese guys would pay homage to MacArthur, who led US forces against Japan  .

I dunno I took Bill's "yee haw" in a "cowabunga dude" sort of way.

Lived in SoCal for some time, and never have I heard of a surfer yeehawing. Granted I haven't really looked into it as I find surfer talk generally irritating.
