FoxMcCloud
The United States has a service through FEMA and the FCC known as EAS. Emergency Alert System which is now part of IPAWS EAS is a national warning system in the United states that was put into service many years back. It is designed for any emergencies and is supposed to allow the president to speak to everypony in the united states within 10 minutes. IPAWS the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System, Is part of FEMA EAS is jointly coordinated by FEMA, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Weather Service (NOAA/NWS). The National EAS has never been activated, and this is the first nationwide test. Most local EAS are used for weather such as tornados, etc. Read here for more information.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_Alert_System
