Fluxy
This game; *Has no interest for it* I will admit it is impressive and all, no doubt there. I am basically surrounded from people who, for a long time, said how good of a role player and how smart they were at role playing due to games like Dragon Age, The Elder Scroll series. And when I tried to explain that it isn't true 'role' playing they went ape shit on me. Not saying they are bad games at all! The graphics are beautiful and usually very smooth all around. Just that, their fans sorta ruined it for me over here XD Anouther added thing that is icing to the cake is that I really don't wanna be sucked into it badly like some are. DarthDelgado
[For further clarification] It's the large building that sorta resembles an overturned boat; head through the large arch near the general store and potion store and then turn to your right; you can't miss it! Should get to that later today.
Nope.
Skyrim was a step up from Oblivion, which for me was a big step down from Morrowind, and is fun. Well, it's not a big step down from Morrowind, since it's a big step up from Oblivion. But still, yeah. A good number of things that were done wrong in Oblivion were actually done right ( or at least close to it ) in Morrowind ( for example: both equipment repairing and degradation ). Removing them just because 'the last game did it totally wrong because we were too lazy to copy-paste these features from the other game and improve them' it's never a good excuse unless 80% of the 'Morrowind-Team' died. Vy'drach
Was actually saying Oblivion was the big step down from Morrowind, not Skyrim, though I still prefer Morrowind just because of all the things that were in it that aren't anymore. Namely the weapon variations, unarmoured skill, levitation, no fast travel (besides the taxi services and mark/recall), ability to mix and match armour (what with you needing to equip each glove and shoulder armour seperately, or not at all if you wanted). Also miss the old Argonian and Khajiit feet. Granted it wasn't that good that you couldn't wear boots or full-face helmets with them, but rather than give them human feet, just make it so they have separate boots on the same tier, or the boots just naturally conform. They would make a killing if they were to remake Morrowind with some of the modern features, such as graphics, more elaborate quests, character customization, and better AI. TheRedFox8
Makes me wonder how long it will take before the modding community gets ahold of it. Might already be too late to say that XD

Yeah, it's a good game by itself ( I can even enjoy it 'vanilla' ), and could bring a lot of older fans to multiple nostalgia-gasms. Makes me wonder how long it will take before the modding community gets ahold of it. Might already be too late to say that XD Heh. The game is already getting its first mods, but I don't know if they released the Construction Set Creation Kit yet. Without that, there is not much to do. Drasiana
Loving the game, although the instability and frequent crashes are quite frustrating. Yes, all my drivers are up-to-date. I don't know what the problem is. Odd. What kind of graphics card are you using? Mind you the game's minimal requirements aren't hard to come by. Also frequent crashes in a Bethesda game is not unprecedented... And if my experience with Amnesia is any indicator some graphics cards just fucking hate certain games for no reason :I I will admit it is impressive and all, no doubt there. I am basically surrounded from people who, for a long time, said how good of a role player and how smart they were at role playing due to games like Dragon Age, The Elder Scroll series. And when I tried to explain that it isn't true 'role' playing they went ape shit on me. ...uhh How is it not a true RPG? If it isn't then like half the genre itself isn't either... Wut? > Create your own character, give him/her a name, a race, an appearance, skills, favorite weapons, spells, fighting style, ways to approach the enemies, etc etc... > The NPCs work basically in the same way as the player character ( they have skills, different appearance, armor, clothes, fighting style, etc etc ). > Do whatever you want in the game world. > Pay the consequences if you do something wrong. If this isn't Role Playing, I don't know what it is. ... Unless you meant "they think to be good at role playing with other people". TES is normally about Single Player roleplaying. Vy'drach
This is why Bethesda games can be so fun. Fun to mess around with and silly things can happen. Just to be safe, given that the end is a bit... unusual. NSFW WARNING

Drasiana
No, Skyrim is pretty much in every respect the giant, studded dildo that has effectively made Oblivion its bitch.
chaos_Leader
Thank you Dras for your vivid and lively analogies. [/squick] In all seriousness though, if you play Oblivion a bunch before you try Skyrim, it'll throw you off. It did me, since the games run on slightly different systems. Also, I would basically "game the system" in Oblivion to maximize my stats while keeping my level low, and thus have a much easier time playing the game, since enemies' stats in Oblivion are based on the player's level. I haven't yet found any game mechanics loopholes like that I can exploit in Skyrim, "yet" being the operative word.

Xidphel
I heard this game had its share of glitches. No one uploaded it on youtube so I'll just post Yahtzee's glitchy encounter: My best one was an old lady floating 20 feet in the air before disappearing into the ground before my eyes. I never knew her name but I will always remember you, hovering ground lady. But the rest of the review and what I hear of this game makes me interested in getting it. AppleBurner
Skyrim is such a magnificent game that I found it hard to put down. When I mustered the strength to put down the controller, I was pulled back to it within the hour. I'm hoping Bethesda releases some more difficult quests. When in combat, I have no problem with melee fighting and I would like there to be a challenge instead of dealing with magic all the time.

I'd have to agree with you there; after your character levels up rather highly the enemies become nothing more than small fools cowering in your awesomeness. Bethesda needs to work out a way to scale enemy difficulty based on the level of your character IMO; things become too easy and therefore somewhat tiresome.
