Star_Dragon
Bah, boredom does strange things to me. Regardless, this story will be significantly... darker than others I have written. If you can't bear the thought of Ash getting into a world of trouble like none he has ever seen (gunfights, battles, and near-death experiences), then go back a page and DON'T READ THIS. If you fathom Ash making a legacy of himself, good for you. I'll warn you now, though - this story is not for the weak and faint of heart. Now, I present to you a WIP story, Pokemon: Legacy of Ash - Book I... Pokemon: Legacy of Ash Book I – Ash and the Marauder Prologue 1135 hours, January 6, 2830 Uncharted system The trainer sprung from cover, firing his MP340A2 as he went. His Pokemon team were safely away, but expressed their concern for their master. He wished he hadn’t lied to them, hadn’t told them he’d be fine. He knew he wouldn’t. Not when he found his Pokemon, the only survivors to a poke-massacre, not when the aliens came after him with his rescue, and especially not now that the aliens have lost their captive Pokemon. He knew he would die. It was just a matter of time. But rather than sit and wait for his death to whack him, he led the aliens on a hunt. He was determined to make that which hunted his friends, that destroyed his home and tried to murder him pay. Make his death count for something, to allow his friends to live and fight another day. So the trainer sprang from cover and fired his weapon as he went, catching one of the aliens by surprise. His serpentine skull took overlapping rounds and dropped like a rock. The other aliens present started shooting, surprised at this sudden, brazen attack. Curiously, they looked as though they were confused – at the disappearance of the trainer’s Pokemon? Perhaps. But the trainer didn’t plan on sticking around long enough to find out. He made a mad beeline to a fork in the path, and took the right fork. The path twisted through a jungle – just the kind of terrain the aliens were used to. These aliens were assassins, boldly professing themselves to be “Faedyrs.†But despite the intimidating posture, the rumors of their deeds across the galaxy, the trainer wouldn’t give in; he’d fight to the death. He jumped off the path, hiding in the brush, waiting for the Faedyrs to pass by so he could ambush them again. If these aliens were assassins, they were pretty green – they walked right into it. He sprang from cover again, firing the MP340A2, and icing another of the serpentine assassins. He doubled back the way he came, avoiding the aliens’ potshots, and headed down the opposite fork he’d taken. He moved along the path, stealth forgotten, and it ended in a cliff. Waters splashed down below, and the trainer had nowhere to... A sharp stabbing pain shot through him as a pair of wrist blades entered through his back and exited his abdomen. The trainer screamed, and the alien hissed, “Where are the Pokemon?†“Screw off,†the trainer spat back. “Tell us or take a swim!†the alien exclaimed, rapidly losing his patience. Though it pained him to do so, the trainer managed a weak chuckle. “You’re too late,†he said hoarsely. “They’re gone, and you can’t stop them.†The alien huffed, then stated, “Suit yourself.†Violently removing the blades, he cast the trainer off the cliff, plummeting down to the waters below. He hit with a splash, blacking out on impact. He remained semi-conscious enough, however, to see four Pokemon find him when he washed ashore: One Lucario, one dark-scaled Charizard, one Blastoise, and one Raichu. Each wore gauntlets or some sort of gear capable of materializing MASRA armor. His Pokemon team. The Lucario fell to his knees, seeing the broken body of his master. “We’re... too late,†he said. “No,†the Raichu sobbed. “No, it can’t be!†“Rest in peace, Jason,†the Blastoise murmured, bowing his head in mourning. A cough erupted from the trainer’s lips, spurting blood. The Charizard was the first to notice. “We’re not too late,†she said, “We can still help him! K’torr, call the drop ship! Rae, Kell, watch the area for any of those aliens!†“Drop ship one,†the Lucario said into the radio in his gauntlet, “this is strike team alpha, we have found Marauder – he’s hurt bad! We need immediate Medevac!†The Charizard leaned in closer, so her nose was literally inches from Jason’s face. A tear left her eye, seeing her closest friend like he was – broken and bleeding. She kissed his forehead, whispering, “Hang in there, Jay – you hear me? Hang in there.†Jason must’ve missed what happened afterward, possibly because he blacked out from blood loss. Next thing he knew, he awoke in what looked like a darkened hospital room on a seemingly-secluded island. He couldn’t see much, save for a bright-skinned being before a window. He had feline features, looked almost like the legendary Mew, but four times as large and more powerful. His purple tail swished this-way-and-that, and his three-fingered hands were clasped behind his back. Mewtwo. Jason had heard the stories, but never actually met Mewtwo himself. Why was he here...? Mewtwo looked over his shoulder, then turned to face Jason. “You’re awake,†he said. “About time. You’ve been slipping in and out of consciousness for a few days now.†“Where... am I?†Jason croaked. “Try not to worry,†Mewtwo replied. “You’re safe – you and you Pokemon team.†“What... what h... happened?†Jason asked. “Your Pokemon and I saved your life, though it has had... other effects that were not expected,†Mewtwo explained. “Pokemon and Human DNA were never meant to mix, but it was the only way to save you. You meant a lot to your Pokemon, and who was I to let you die?†“Am... Am I dead?†Jason inquired. If Mewtwo could smile, he would have done so as he answered, “Far from it. It’ll be a few days before you’re back on your feet, but the powers you now have will take some getting used to.†Jason frowned. “Powers?†he repeated. “Like I said, the operation has had unexpected effects,†Mewtwo stated. He sighed, then added, “I won’t lie to you; whatever we did in that operation, it mutated your genetic structure. You now have abilities that no human before you could have.†He flipped on a computer display, but Jason couldn’t see it – the light from it hurt his eyes. He groaned, shielding his eyes, and Mewtwo turned off the display. “Sorry, friend,†He apologized. “Your eyes will take time to re-adjust to the light.†“Where am I?†Jason repeated his earlier question. “You’re not on Rigel VII,†Mewtwo responded, “I can tell you that right away. You’re in my sanctuary on Rigel IV – the last place those Faedyrs would think to look.†Jason breathed a sigh of relief. His Pokemon were safe, and he was alive. He was about to open his mouth, to thank Mewtwo for all this, when Mewtwo interrupted him. “You don’t have to thank me,†he stated. “I’ve spent far too long in isolation, and saving you and your team seemed a step in the right direction to re-integrating myself into society.†Jason nodded, then changed the subject. “Do you know the name Ash Ketchum?†he asked. Mewtwo frowned. “Of course,†he admitted. “He’s an old friend of mine. I’ve been tracking his progress since the trainer society’s ascension into space – last I heard, he was in Pewter III... Why do you ask?†“My team and I came across an alien intelligence dossier that labeled Ash as their next target,†Jason explained. “For what reason, we don’t know. But the contract was enough to attract those Faedyrs – and could attract others.†“I see,†Mewtwo stated. “So it is as they say: ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend.’ If you’ll have me, I could aid you in locating Ash... and perhaps finding a motive to this contract.†“Vatn wenn,†Jason stated in his Dragonarian tongue. Mewtwo chuckled, “I didn’t know you spoke Dragonarian.†“Among other languages, yes,†Jason affirmed. “I also speak Russian and German, with a splash of Kelltulan and Mirdakian.†“Well, get some rest, Jason,†Mewtwo said. Jason didn’t need to be told twice. He closed his eyes, and fell asleep thirty seconds later... (More to follow, I'll stay in touch.)

Star_Dragon
I'm not exactly sure what that's supposed to be, but oh, well... Chapter One Ash’s life as a trainer celebrity was easy, but rough at the same time. It often did him some good to be alone with his friends and Pokemon. After a two-week vacation to the Skiing resort on Pewter IV, Ash had returned to Pewter III for his final battle on Pewter III. May stood with him, as did Brock and – much to everyone’s surprise – Misty. Misty, though slightly jealous that May beat her to Ash, supported them in whatever way possible. Even as Ash faced incredible odds against the competition, he pulled through, as he had in years now past. With the competition over, and Ash crowned the champion, he and his friends anxiously awaited first-class transport to Terra II – one of a few great prizes for being crowned champion. Terra II was also where Ash’s next competition was, but the competition wasn’t for at least another three weeks, assuming the typically-rainy weather of that particular world lets up. And it would be another three days before the transport would be ready, so, if only to pass the time, Ash, May, Misty and Brock headed down to the celebration down in the courtyard. But even as Ash went, he got a chill in his spine. His blood turned to ice. Something felt odd. But it didn’t dawn on him until he spotted a familiar figure in the crowd. He was tall, easily seven feet, with the features of a Feline Pokemon. Ash had seen this figure before... right? The Pokemon turned his head and looked right at Ash. He knew who this was. But it was Misty who put it into words. “Mewtwo?†she asked, “What are you doing here?†“I was about to ask you all the same thing,†Mewtwo responded. Ash noticed gauntlets on Mewtwo’s wrists that covered his hands and wrists. “I... see you got that taken care of,†Ash commented. Mewtwo chuckled, indicating the gauntlets and saying, “These were courtesy of a good friend. You may well get the chance to meet him.†“Ash,†May asked, “Who is this?†Ash sighed. “I think it’s time for introductions,†he said. “Mewtwo, this is my girlfriend, May. May, this is an old Pokemon friend of mine, Mewtwo.†“Girlfriend, eh?†Mewtwo chuckled. “Well, forgive me if I seem... intimidating.†“So, where is this ‘good friend’ of yours?†Ash asked. “Oh, he’s around – he, his team and I only got here a matter of hours ago,†Mewtwo explained. “We came here from... Terrell VI, I think it was.†“Terrell VI?†Misty repeated. “That’s not a good place to be. Lots of thugs and gang wars.†“Yeah,†Mewtwo sighed, “Well, we had a few things to do there before we came here. Loose ends to tie, so to speak.†“Can’t imagine what those could have been,†Ash remarked. “Are you sure you’d want to know, old friend?†Mewtwo asked. “Probably not,†Ash chuckled. It was as Ash answered Mewtwo’s question that Ash spotted an odd figure wandering the area. He was tall, easily as tall as Mewtwo, with a gaunt, scarred face, brown eyes, and short brown hair. He was also wearing the same kind of gauntlets Mewtwo had, and had a camouflage shirt, black pants, discolored brown military surplus boots, and he had a two swords strapped to his side. This man was flanked by a team of Pokemon – one Charizard, one Lucario, one Blastoise, and one Raichu – that had the same gauntlets or equipment Mewtwo had, with the exception of Raichu, who had an odd headset. “Good eye, Ash,†Mewtwo commented. “That’s my good friend – Jason.†“He... looks like some ex-military merc kind of guy,†May commented. “Well, I wouldn’t call him ex-military,†Mewtwo corrected her, “Though he certainly looks that way, doesn’t he?†With a sigh, he added, “He and I met six—no, eight months ago – after an op he did on Rigel VII. With aid from his Pokemon team, I saved his life – though it had... other effects. Unexpected, but incredible at the same time.†“What kind of effects?†Brock asked. Mewtwo chuckled as he hit a button on his Gauntlet. “I’ll let them speak for themselves – suffice to say, he is far from the average human... no offense.†Ash smiled. “None taken,†he said. It was as Ash responded to Mewtwo’s comment that Jason looked down at his gauntlet, then over at Mewtwo. He and the team of Pokemon approached Mewtwo, Ash, Misty, May and Brock. “Ash Ketchum, Jason Anderson,†Mewtwo introduced. “Jay, these are old friends of mine – Ash, his girlfriend May, Misty, and Brock.†Jason nodded by way of a greeting. He looked at the party, his eyes stopping at Misty. He then gestured with a finger, and the Charizard – obviously female, given her features – leaned her head down closer to Jason. “Tumannoe ne bylo vrazvedke dosʹe,†He murmured to her. Misty frowned. “What are you talking about?†she asked. “Nothing you need concern yourself with,†Jason answered. “I’m concerned nonetheless, if Ash was in those ‘intelligence dossiers’ and I wasn’t,†Misty stated. Jason frowned and inclined his head. “Vy govorite russkiĭ yazyk?†He asked. “Not fluently, but yes, I do,†Misty answered. Jason’s demeanor changed in an instant as he crossed his arms. With a smile and a raised eyebrow, he said, “I’m impressed. I meet few people who speak Russian.†“I hate to change the subject,†Ash stated, “But what brings you and Jason out here, Mewtwo?†“Well, you, really,†Mewtwo responded. “Long story, old friend. Perhaps you would like to discuss it at my sanctuary on Rigel IV?†“Certainly – we’ve got too much free time on our hands as it is,†Ash responded. “I’ll say,†Brock added. “And I could use a break from the hustle-and-bustle of being the friend of a celebrity.†“We all need that,†May agreed. “It’s settled, then – as soon as you’re ready, Ash,†Jason said, “I have a ship waiting at the spaceport. It’s nothing big and fancy – just something to get me from A to B.†“Nifty,†Ash commented. “But I at least want to stick around for the music and food – It’s due to start any minute.†“Hey – Like you, I have an excess of time,†Jason replied. He then shuddered, as though cold, and his eyes betrayed a look of apprehension. He turned to face his Pokemon, and murmured, “Derzhite glaza otkrytymi , tovarishchi, - chto-to ne tak.†Misty leaned closer to everyone else. “Am I the only one who gets the impression something’s wrong?†“Why?†May asked, “What did he say?†“I couldn’t hear him very well; all I got was ‘keep your eyes open, comrades,’†Misty answered. “A lot of this will have to be discussed when we get to Rigel IV,†Mewtwo whispered to them. “But suffice to say, the shiver in Jason’s spine warns him of approaching danger.†“So why don’t we just leave before danger finds us?†Ash asked. “Because, knowing Jason,†Mewtwo explained, “he will likely try to take on whatever enemy approaches us. There is a reason he is known as ‘Marauder.’†As though the conversation didn’t happen, the group went on with the party. It wasn’t until an hour went by that the first signs of trouble cropped up. It started as Ash talked with May when someone demanded, “Everyone, quiet down! Listen!†The crown noise dulled, and Ash could hear a faint, rapid thumping in the air: Whup-pup-pup-pup-pup-pup-pup! As if he knew what was going on, Jason suddenly became more alert. He gave several hand signals to his Pokemon, and Mewtwo came up beside Ash. “Old friend, we must leave – the enemy found us faster than I anticipated." Whup-pup-pup-pup-pup-pup-pup! The sound was getting louder by the second. “What is that?†May asked. “Ash, now!†Mewtwo pleaded. By the time Ash got up, a helicopter appeared, and someone on board shouldered a submachine gun and opened fire. Ash and May dashed for cover, and Jason suddenly appeared with an assault rifle in his hands. “Mewtwo, Anna, Rae, get them out of here!†he commanded. “K’torr, Kell, with me!†“What about you?†the Charizard asked. Jason turned to the helicopter as the gunner fired again. “I’ll be just fine, Anna – go!†he exclaimed. “K’torr, break out the light-cycles!†“On it,†the Lucario answered, right before he rushed off. “Kell,†Jason continued, “warm up your Particle Cannons! We’ll need ‘em!†“Right,†the Blastoise stated. Some sort of ablative armor materialized all around him, and the two cannons in his shell hummed to life. The helicopter gunner opened fire again, and Jason rolled to the left, shouldered his rifle as he came up, and returned fire. The gunner took several rounds and dropped out of the helicopter. The pilot tried to fly away, but fell short when Kell’s Particle Cannons blew the chopper apart. But the sound of more approaching Helicopters filled the air. K’torr returned with a case, and Jason was quick to open it. Ash, Misty, May and Brock, who were too awestruck to move when the first chopper went down, watched as Jason opened the case to reveal several small sticks. He tossed one to each of his Pokemon, excluding Kell and Anna – the Charizard – for some reason. He even tossed one to Mewtwo. Mewtwo immediately broke his, which materialized into a sort of while-lighted vehicle large enough to fit Ash, May, Misty and Brock. “Kell,†Jason said, “Remember that experimental flight pack I integrated into your shell?†“Pah,†Kell responded, “Of course. Never got the chance to use it, though.†“This would be the ideal time to use it,†Jason stated as he grabbed one of the sticks. “You and Anna are going to be our air support. Mewtwo, you take Ash, Misty, May and Brock in your light-car and make for the docking bay where the Recalcitrant Predator is kept – once in the ship, engage the anti-fighter defense system. Mewtwo nodded. “Got it,†he said. “I assume you’re going to draw off our party-crashers?†“Not exactly,†Jason chuckled. “Just lead them right into the meat grinder.†Mewtwo turned to Ash. “C’mon, Ash – we can talk when we hit Rigel IV.†Without hesitation, Ash, May, Misty, Brock, Rae and Mewtwo got into the light-car and sped off... Star_Dragon
This may be the last Chapter I post for a while - not just because of my recent incident, but because Chapter Three isn't finished and I've hit a bit of a block after the incident... Chapter Two As Mewtwo sped away, Jason and K’torr chased after them, leaping into the air as they broke the sticks apart. The sticks became light-cycles, and they sped off after Mewtwo. Kell materialized armor and the experimental flight pack, and roared into the air, while Anna materialized her MASRA armor and got airborne. As Mewtwo sped along the highway, Ash growled, “So put me into the picture, old friend – what the frak happened back there?!†“You’ve been marked, Ash,†Mewtwo responded. “We don’t know who or why, but we’re trying to find out.†Automatic gunfire came from above, and the reason was plain to see; an attack helicopter – one archaic MI-24 “Hind†had slotted itself behind the light-car and was trying to shoot it. Unknown to the pilot, however, Kell was rapidly approaching his six. The pilot didn’t have a clue until Kell’s particle cannons discharged and blew him out of the sky. It was then that Jason and K’torr were seen alongside the car. The light-cycles they rode shone brightly in the fading light. “Mewtwo,†Jason said over the radio, “There’s an exit up ahead – it’ll give you a shortcut to the docking bays.†“Got it,†Mewtwo responded. “What’re you going to do?†“We’re going to draw the sukiny deti off, give you some time to get to the Predator,†Jason replied. “Contact,†K’torr stated. “Enemy Hind, dead ahead!†Jason reached back and pulled his assault rifle out – an AR635A2 Multi-Purpose Assault Rifle. He steadied the rifle as best he could, took aim, and opened up on the MI-24 up ahead. Ash didn’t see the explosion as Mewtwo turned off at the exit Jason had mentioned, but he did hear it. In the distance, the docking bays could be seen. Many larger ships were there, held in place by gravity beams. One of them was a Sangheili CCS Battlecruiser – something Ash was surprised, but at the same tome not surprised, to see. Given the fact that Humanity had ascended into space and had a number of sci-fi franchises with many different kinds of starships, one could logically presume that humans turned to these archaic shows, movies and games to build their starfleet – military and otherwise. “So,†Ash asked, “Which one is the Recalcitrant Predator?†“The little stingray-looking one, dead center,†Mewtwo replied. Ash squinted and saw it – sitting unmoving on a gravity beam. “Wow,†May stated. “Tiny little ship.†“Hey,†Mewtwo chuckled, “He never said his ship was huge, but don’t let the size fool you – Jason’s ship has taken on ships several times larger and he has come out on top.†“How?†Brock asked. “The Recalcitrant Predator is armed with a number of Kadgeron weapons – twin burst-fire disruptors, twin single-fire disruptors, one Kadgeron Torpedo launcher, and several aft Kadgeron autocannons,†Mewtwo explained. “Kadgeron weapons?†Misty repeated. “Those are highly-experimental – high-end Dragonarian tech.†“So are the MASRA armor generators Jason has installed,†Mewtwo stated. “Needless to say, Jason is prepared to face a much larger threat.†“That’s a lot of tech for such a small ship,†Ash remarked. “As I indicated earlier,†Mewtwo repeated, “Jason likes to be prepared.†“So it would seem,†Ash murmured. “What do you imagine he’s doing right now?†May asked. “Leading our enemy on a wild-goose chase until we can get to the Predator and raise the defenses, probably,†Mewtwo stated. There was a momentary pause before Misty spoke. “So, Mewtwo,†she asked, “You know Jason better than us... how did you really meet him?†Mewtwo sighed. “I wasn’t exaggerating when I said I saved his life,†he started. “We all had a part in saving his life,†Rae stated from the center console. “You, Kell, K’torr, Anna and me.†“But what happened?†Misty asked. Mewtwo shook his head, and Rae started the first part of the story. “It was an op on Rigel VII that went awry,†he began. “Jason, Anna, Kell, K’torr and I headed to an outpost to figure out exactly what was going on. Our employer had reason to believe that the denizens there – a faction calling themselves the Rigel Praetorians – were up to no good. The first part of the op went smoothly; we infiltrated the place and no one had a clue. It was when we discovered what was going on that things went south.†With a sigh, Rae continued, “The Praetorians wanted Ash for reasons we’ve still not figured out, and they’d been hiring to all the scum they could find to accomplish this. They had also targeted Jason as a potent threat to whatever they had planned. They hired a team of Faedyrs--†“Faedyrs?!†Misty repeated, “You mean those Kemorainian assassins?†“Yeah, them,†Rae affirmed. “They hired a team of Faedyrs to kill Jason and capture us. Unfortunately, our cover was blown before we could find out anything else, so we were forced to exfiltrate when we were captured in the midst of piles of dead Pokemon. Jason risked everything to save us – which he did – and he forced us to board our escape drop ship while he led the Faedyrs away.†Rae shook his head, then added, “He took a terrible gamble with his life – but it had to be done. We don’t know what happened after that, because we found him lying on a beach near a cliff some hours later. The Faedyrs nearly killed him.†Mewtwo took over from there. “Which was when I met him,†he explained. “His team brought him to me, broken, bleeding and dying, desperately looking for a way to save him.†Mewtwo took a turn on a street. “I tried everything I knew, but in the end, only one thing could save him.†“What?†Ash asked, now curious. “What did you do?†“A DNA Transfusion,†Mewtwo said. “Pokemon have regenerative powers far more advanced than humans, and it was the only way to save Jason.†“But... a DNA transfusion like that would... kill the Pokemon involved,†May stated. “I know,†Mewtwo responded. “But the DNA transfusion was from all of us – Myself, Rae, K’torr, Kell... and especially Anna. She nearly killed herself saving Jason. With all of us giving up a part of ourselves, we were able to save him just inches from death without one of us dying in his place.†“Wow...†Misty mumbled. “Jason means that much to us,†Rae said, his voice quivering. A single tear left his eye as he added, “When he found us, we were living as rats in an abandoned lab. He sheltered us on his ship, fed us, trained us, taught us, and cared about us when no one else would. He’s the only family we have.†“And we, likewise, are the closest thing to family he has left,†Mewtwo stated. “Man... I guess I never realized how much he means to you,†Brock said. “Mewtwo,†Ash said, “earlier... you said that when you saved his life, it had unexpected, but incredible effects.†“I did,†Mewtwo admitted. “Human and Pokemon DNA were never meant to mix, but in this case...†Mewtwo paused. “... In this case, it created something... the galaxy had never seen.†“What do you mean?†Ash asked. Mewtwo sighed as he pulled into the gravity beam. “I won’t lie to you, old friend,†Mewtwo elaborated, looking to Ash. “Jason has powers that no human dares dream of. He can control the elements, do things no human can do. One such power – something he got from Anna – allows him to morph into a dragon. Moreover, he can actually communicate with other Pokemon.†“In other words,†Misty concluded, “You gave him powers that no one could ever hope to have?†“In an effort to save his life, yes,†Mewtwo affirmed. There was a slight jolt as the gravity beam deposited the car on the deck. “While I realize it wasn’t the smartest move, I have no regrets over it.†“Doing a crazy thing for the right reason,†Ash said as Mewtwo drove the car to a secluded corner. “Don’t beat yourself up, Mewtwo – you did what you had to.†The team exited the car and May asked, “Which way to the bridge?†“Just follow me,†Mewtwo chuckled. In an aside directed to no one in particular, he stated, “Izzy, engage the anti-fighter defenses.†An artificial female voice stated, “They’re already up – iced two Hinds already. Where’s Jason and the others?†“Having fun with the remaining enemies, I guess,†Mewtwo responded. He, Ash, May, Misty and Brock marched toward the bridge as Mewtwo said, “You know, Izanagi... for an AI, you sure do worry about Jason a lot.†“Don’t we all?†Izanagi asked rhetorically. The gang walked onto the bridge of the ship, and Mewtwo wandered over to one of the holo-consoles. “Well, well, speak of Jason...†He paused as two MI-24 Hinds exploded outside. “... And he will come.†Jason, Anna, Kell and K’torr marched onto the bridge moments later. “Okay, let’s get the hell outta dodge.†He approached the master console and his hands began to dance along the holo-panel with exponentially-increasing speed. The Recalcitrant Predator shuddered as the gravity lift was raised, and the ship shot up into the sky. Inside, no one flew against a bulkhead. The Predator ascended through the atmosphere, where Jason moved away from the ships, set a course for Rigel IV, and engaged the Translight engines. With everything done, Jason wordlessly marched off the bridge. His Pokemon all manned a console, with the exception of Anna, who stared after her master. Ash noticed this and asked, “He never says much, does he?†“No,†Anna answered. “Jay was never the... verbal type. Not when he’s off the battlefield. Sure, he talks to us and practically every other Pokemon he comes across, but as far as other humans... he never has much to say, if he even speaks to them at all.†She looked to Ash. “You’d be damned lucky if he opens his mouth to say more than two words to you.†Without another word, she marched off the bridge after Jason. Ash’s Picachu, who had been riding his shoulder up to this point, hopped down to the deck and stared after the dark-scaled Charizard known as Anna. “Pi-caa-chu...†he mumbled. “I hear ya,†Ash said. “Though he saved our lives, he’s... odd.†“Well, as I said,†Mewtwo stated, “We’ll talk more once we hit Rigel IV.†With nothing left to do but wait, Ash and his friends headed for the guest quarters...
