So until my next job starts I'm basically living off cheap hot dogs and deli meat for my meat intake, which is sad, because as much as I love adorable animals, I also love eating them. So here I am staring at a list of meats I can buy from local suppliers and seeing all the different kinds of meat available and wanting income now so I can EAT THEM ALL (they're all organic/free-range too!)

I just made this topic because I'm wondering, SFO, what's your favourite type of meat? Or what would you like to try?

Personally I like mostly dark, greasier meats. Don't know about favourites but I do have a soft spot for venison, rabbit, salmon and duck. And bacon. Omg bacon. I'd like to try gator though.

Canadian bacon FTFW.

This topic got me thinking about all you can eat breakfast buffets at the various hotels I've stayed at over the years. Bring on the plates of BACON!

I do like merely any kind of meat. Have an assumed preference for duck though, because of the wide range of ways you can cook it without risking to spoil it (while it is so "easy" to ruin beef dishes for instance). Gamey beef's a mush-have too! :3

Of course, after one year and a half spent in Canada, bacon's on the top of the list too, as much as another one that is not mentioned in the poll: horse meat. Very tasty, sain, not fat at all and rather cheap in Canada.

This topic is making me sooooo hungry.

I feel bad if I have to pick one, because I've had amazing dishes in so many of the categories above. I think I'll go with bison though, since I had this utterly awesome bison burger yesterday from the Black Sheep pub.

I guess horse falls under the "other mammal" option. Never seen it for sale here, but I've heard good things.

You can pick multiple answers :3

And bison is delicious. I usually take it over beef...I don't like beef that much but bison manages to be like it, only tastier.

I didn't vote it and never had it, but I've heard it tastes similar to chicken. Ew.

'Gator tastes like (dry) chicken. Best eaten with tasty sauce. It's when you eat it that bird-reptiles genetic proximity makes sense! :-P

I did ate snake once and didn't like it that much. But maybe it was because it had been deep fried in the wrong way... Cooked like that, it just doesn't tastes like anything at all! :/

+1 for bison. Tasted that once, when I visited Wyoming long ago. A bit harder than beef but way tastier and healthier (but more expensive too).

Yeah, that's what I checked. I just thought it was distinctive enough to apear in the list. Usually, it is an exemple used by vegan/PETA fanatics to (try to) make meat-eaters look bad! :-P

EDIT: Waiting for Prince Elite to check Kangaroo! :troll:

Yeah I actually just forgot to give it its own category. People being overly upset about eating horse is silly and obviously just a case of "it's cute/domesticated so it's better than other animals we eat"; the animals aren't endangered and as long as it's killed humanely it's fine. I never see horse for sale but man the horse roast in Skyrim looks pretty good

I've actually had kangaroo carpaccio before. It was pretty tasty, just reminded me of ham.

You're missing shellfish. I can't get enough of crawdads or lobster. Don't care for crab, however. Also love fried clams (though do not like clam chowder).

Out of that list, though, fish. I love all kinds of fish. Halibut, mahi-mahi, salmon, trout, cod, swordfish, etc. etc.

Am interested in trying gator and snake.

I guess a bison is also a buffalo. Same difference. I'll eat turkey in a pinch, but I dont like it as much I I love DEEP FRIED CHICKEN. NOM NOM NOM.

And red meat, but I have to be in the mood for it, I default to chicken otherwise.

...Pork ribs are tasty. Oh god I need to tell my dad to make some this weekend.

I more of a fan of white meats than darker meats. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a grilled steak as much as the next man, sometimes more, but Chicken is defiantly one of my favorite meats.

I'm an all-around meat eater, so given the chance, I'd try everything on the menu. (Heck, one vegetarian, medium well!)

Beef, Chicken and Pork are base. I tried Elk and Moose hamburgers, I'd be thrilled to eat a steak of those. Given the chance, I'd even try Kangaroo or Reptile (I think I once ate iguana, but my memory's hazy)

One thing though: I can't stand cold cuts most of the time. The only one I really like is Iberian Ham or Serrano ham, but I rarely like cold food

Yes, and you are still the only one who thinks that. :troll:
