Hello I'm Sabre Lynx (but for some reason someone already had the user name SabreLynx *rages*)

Anyways I found this place trying to find some soundtracks to download. Then a month later I was like "Furries in a video game heck ya!" I though it was cool so I joined. I'm also an airsofter, a paintballer, fire arms shooter and a furry.

inb4 Psygonis.

Anyway most of us are paintballers on this site, but a few of us have at least tried to get into Airsofting before.

Anyway welcome to the site Mr. Lynx and for the record, it's best your name doesn't include the name "Sabre" here.

There's another Sabre here? I inspired that name from one of the original Dinosaur Planet characters Sabre. Anyways was "Sabre" a troll or something?

Edit: Cool there is an edit button of course my real mane isn't Sabre Lynx.

There was, and he's gone now due to bad behavior. Is all you need to know.

But otherwise good choice of the name, most of us do (or should) know about Dinosaur Planet and I knew about that Sabre character's existence.

Finally a new member who knows about the edit button, I like you already.

Welcome to SF-O, comrade! While I'm not much of a painballer or airsofter, I am a bit of a gun fanatic... but that's for another topic. Welcome!

I never really got into airsoft or paintballing, as, for me, shooting tends to lose it's thrill without the sound of the report, the feel of the recoil, the smell and taste of the ignited powder, the feel of the furniture, the weight of the weapon in your hands, and the ability to accurately send bits of metal down range into a spot of your choosing.

And in case that post didn't make it clear, I am quite the firearms enthusiast, so if you ever wish to talk guns, do not hesitate at all, really. I love talking about guns and relish every opportunity. Just keep in mind I hate any and every gun made by Israel Military Industries, such as the Uzi, Desert Eagle, Galil, Jericho, and Negev, and anything their reach has spread to, and that I hate any and all members of the M16 family with the exception of the original M16, which I can stand for a few saving graces (back then), and the fact it was a prototype design and thus should be expected to be flawed, but was never corrected. Of course I can stand any of the AR platform weapons if they use a gas piston instead of direct gas impingement.

Anyway, enough about me. Time for a classic Vy welcome.

Yes, it is very PMC. Got a bit of a thumb-over-bore grip going on there? Getting into shooting here is hard. Almost all the live firing I've ever done has been in a military context, which means I hardly ever get to train on marksmanship. Airsoft is a decent stopgap for fun, but I wish I could just go down to a range and practice actual skills. Oh well.

If you are just using Airsoft weaponry, there is no need to black out your eyes for Opsec reasons, if only just for so people don't need to say your face, then just say that.

I deal with OPSEC everyday, and unless if you have a Security Clearance or Top Security, there is no need to do that just for "OPSEC"

I'm gunna call shenanigans. I work with the United States Air Force and with FEMA and DHS, and High Tier Operator means nothing, if not nothing in any major organizations. I did some research.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong though.

Vydrach, what's wrong with the Jericho 941? I'm not saying you're wrong, I actually know very little about it. Is it flawed in some way? The others you list I don't care for so much, but the Jericho I always thought looked fairly cool. Is it because of the calibre it was introduced with perhaps?

I can stand any of the AR platform weapons if they use a gas piston instead of direct gas impingement.

I wasn't even aware people did that with AR's, and it's clearly a fantastic idea; the 5.56 rifles I've had experience with all use gas pistons, and they seem to work well. The principle of pushing the bolt carrier back simply by flooding the receiver with gas seems to be a far less efficient idea - but it must have something going for it. I suppose it's simply too expensive to implement across the US military? I wonder what kind of gas system the Canadians use in their Diemaco's.
