A bit of a clichéd question, but I'd like to listen to current opinions.

Consider everything before posting (Objective, Malice, Personality, etc.)

For me, it's a very tight race between Scar and Frollo. Scar gets what he wanted for quite a while in the movie, is one of the few Disney "murders", backstabbed pretty much everyone on the movie... And let's not forget about the cynical, stoic, "whatevs" personality.

While Frollo has easily the worst personality profile on all the Disney villains, is also one of the Disney "murders" (even thoguht it wasn't as detailed as Scar's) and develops a very clear psychosis while trying to do his "good will". But he didn't really had a mission and was easily put on hsi spot during the first parts of the movie.

So, which one's your opinion?

Maleficent. If my Latin is up to date, im almost sure this name means Doer of Bad (Malus Ficent) But its the fact that she isnt as overtly evil as the others that seals her as pure unadulterated evil in my opinion. Look at everyone else, they are outgoing in their malice even looking the part in exaggerant ways. Maleficent is Subtle, Sneaky, coniving. She is also subversive until she is truely enraged. Compair her to The Emperor from Star Wars. He holds the kindly Grandfather voice until Luke activly denies him victory, where he turns into a dragon... I mean shoots lightning out of his fingers. Its that subversivness that makes her a brand of terror on all her own.

I'm going to have to go with Cruella DeVil. Besides her name being an obvious pun, anyone that feels the need to make adorable Dalmatian puppies into coats is evil in my book!

Professor Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective is my favorite Disney villain, but I'd have to say Scar is the most evil. Plus, Scar is my 2nd favorite and from my favorite movie of all time.

THE LION KING RULES!!!

Is this poll a "which Disney villain is the evilest" poll or is it a "which Disney villain is characterized the worst" poll?

Evilest.

I see.

Well, Frollo's got the whole "genocide" thing going for him, and Hunchback was set in a somewhat more realistic world than most Disney movies are, so I'm probably gonna go with him.

Maleficent actually summoned the very powers of Hell itself, so I think I'm gonna have to go with her.

Maleficent is basically Disney female Satan. So yeah.

Queen Grimhilde is a good second.

too bad this guy isn't a Disney villain or i would totally 100% vote for him for anything

I refuse to believe he's a villain. He used what seems to be limitless magical power granting him control of the fabric of reality itself to sing an old-timey rock song, complete with glowing magical-energy guitar and piano.

He's a pretty cool guy in my book.

i have to say, though, the evil contest is a tossup between Frollo and Scar. they were both so evil they were actually British, even though Frollo was French and Scar was an African lion.

but evil though they may be, Dr. Facilier is the undisputed Dark Lord of the Dance among Disney villains.

Scar could have been a White South African lion.... Perhaps he was living during the 90s too. There is no indication of any historical period.

And maybe Czernabog should be here, since he is actually satan

I wonder why captain hook isnt on here? That mustache says it all!

I think of him as way too comedic and not evil enough to take him in consideration.

He may be evil, but he relatively does very little compared to others. He might be the God of evil, but where the art that others do?

And I think Maleficent as the biggest :troll: "For the heck of it, I'll curse this girl in a way that she ends up as a vegetable if she pinches her finger... Oh I can transform in a dragon too. Problem?"

See, the thing that catches me on Maleficent is the fact that her motivation is pretty much just butthurt over not being invited to a party. Sure, she did curse the kingdom and turn into a giant ragey dragon rather than resort to passive aggressive Facebook statuses but c'mon, if the cast of Desperate Housewives had supernatural powers they'd do the exact same thing.

Chernabog is Satan I guess but he pussies out the second the sun comes up and his "evil schemes" seem to boil down to "recite awesome-creepy classical dance numbers with a bunch of dead guys before going back to bed".

That's pretty much what kills Maleficent for me. Compared to Scar's thrist for power, she stands short.

And Chernabog does what every other villain would do if they had the powers of Chernabog.

If we're talking about EVIL, though, you then realize that Maleficent is goddamn outright horrible just for the sake of being horrible. Butthurt over not being invited to a party? Maybe, but she pretty much reacted to that with "well then I hope your daughter enjoys DYING". She didn't really need a reason, she's just an evil cuntbucket.

Chernabog is the literal embodiment of dark evil things, so it makes sense he repels at sunlight. Call that being a pussy, but at least he doesn't goddamn die from falling off cliffs like 90% of every other Disney villains do.

On the side note, Frollo was less evil and moreso just deluded, misguided, and off his rocker. He thinks he's doing the right and just thing for the world, but lust creeps into his heart and drives him up the wall.

That aspect of Frollo is why he was a more disturbing villain; though I guess in that sense "evil" quickly becomes subjective. Cookie-cutter "evil" villains (I WILL USE MAGIC TO GAIN POWER BECAUSE REASONS) lose the impact of their evilness when their goal is simply to be as evil as possible.

Didn't Maleficent actually die by falling off a cliff? I think that was AFTER she was stabbed, but still. I dunno, Scar getting mauled to death (after falling off a cliff, mind you), Clayton accidentally hanging himself, and Ursula getting impaled by a boat were pretty badass deaths. Frollo fell off the cathedral but at least it was into a giant inferno of obvious symbolism. /tangent

Chernabog wasn't actually repelled by the sunlight, but by the Angelus bell rang at the dawn of the day after Walpurgis Night.

Also, going to have to go with a tie between two of the villains from Gargoyles, Demona and Oberon.

Starting with Oberon, he's not inherently evil, but he is immortal, the father of gods, and exceedingly arrogant and can be quite harsh in his punishment. The first time he's set up as an antagonist, he was going to kill the humans and gargoyles on Avalon for simply being there after he and his children had abandoned the island for centuries on a whim of his that they should live amongst mortals. He was going to end them then and there, but his rather manipulative "wife" talked him into giving the mortals a sporting chance, allowing them time to devise a way (with her help) to defeat him and manage to co-exist on the island. The second main antagonist moment for him was where he decided he wanted to take his, I suppose she'd be his stepdaughter, anyway, take her son away from her mostly because he could, he wanted to, and he gets what he wants.

Demona, is more evil. She being the former love of Goliath and having a child with him, Angela. She wants nothing more or less than the end of the human race, and has made several attempts at it. In one such attempt, she had the human population of at least New York City (maybe the entire world, can't remember) turned to stone, and was walking down the streets smashing every person to bits with a morning star, or blasting them with a laser rifle. Sometimes not even actually destroying the person entirely, but removing limbs. One that stands out is a woman that was shopping and had large bags in her hands, and Demona says something along the lines of, "Those look heavy, let me help you with those" as she blasts her arms off, and walks away laughing. I can not imagine that was fun for the woman when the spell was lifted (which time ceased to exist for the person while the spell was in effect, meaning the moment they turned to stone to the moment they returned to normal seemed only a mere second at the longest, so these people who were missing limbs would literally blink their eyes, and oh shit, no more arms). Here we have a villain doing large scale death and dismemberment. The only one she wouldn't harm would be her daughter. Even Goliath and the other gargoyles, her former family, she'd have no qualms about killing. They say that the ninth circle of hell, reserved for traitors, is the worst (it does happen to be where Satan himself is imprisoned, supposedly).

He went from gypsy-nazi to nympho-psycho that fast.

I'll do the Disney death poll later.

do you mean "worst" in terms of the level of evil performed? or the quality of their work.

I assume you mean how evil they were. In my opinion, Scar. He was very manipulative, he always had sneaky plans. A bit of fratricide. Convincing the Hyena's to join his cause, the people that their kings (Mufassa and Simba) were dead, and poor little Simba that it was his fault. He's a pretty sneaky punk, and he was arguably the most successful villain of all in the Disney saga. It shows just how much preparation he put into his plans, and how EVIL he must be. All that deception, violence, murder.
