chaos_Leader
I've always believed, ever since I took a look at them, that Retro Studios would be the best equipped team to bring Star Fox back. Any studio that can do Metroid Prime, then turn straight around and do Donkey Kong, and both successfully, can probably do almost anything. I wouldn't trust any other studio in existence, anywhere, to take on this challenge. It'd be nice if that's what they're up to, but I'll save my hype until it gets actually confirmed. Robert Monroe
Found on a french video games website's article: «After all, having rolled out the barrels for Donkey Kong, perhaps it’s time Retro pulled off a barrel roll of a different kind.» These words are Retro Studio's, quoted from the lastest issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine. That actually sounds like a Starfox reference to me! ... TEN YEARS I'VE WAITED AND ON A COLD NIGHT IN THE YEAR 201X A GOOD STARFOX WAS BORN A PERFECT GAME AN UNBEATABLE SEQUEL HELL-BENT ON DESTROYING THE EVILS BETWEEN MAN AND SERIES BUILT FOR ONE PURPOSE TO DESTROY RARE AND NAMCO'S RUINATION OF THE SERIES READY WILLING AND PREPARED TO FIGHT.

Drasiana
It really does sort of look like they're just speculating on it...but there aren't that many options for what Retro's Super Secret Nintendo Game that "everyone wants them to do" could be, considering the recent releases in most other main franchises... inb4 Donkey Kong Country Returns: Again (also shouldn't this be in one of the Star Fox boards...?) Robert Monroe
It's either Starfox, or like, F-Zero. Both of these would make me happy.
Drasiana
Yeah that's what I figured Those are the two most common "Retro should make [x]" I seem to see, anyway imagine if it was F-Zero, Captain Falcon's nipples in glorious HD
DZComposer
I could probably troll the internet with this rumor. I live about 60 miles from Retro's headquarters, and my car license plate reads "ARWING." They're based out of an office park in North Austin. I could leave my car in that parking lot for a while... But I won't. It might get towed and I'd be screwed.

Patch93
BTW Rob, in case you haven't noticed (which i'm pretty sure you most likely haven't XD), I'm SonicTheJackrabbit on YouTube, you know, the guy who watched and commented on your Star Fox LPs? :V Anyway, getting back on topic, I personally hope they ignore the post-SFA canon and make it a true sequel to SF64, or at the very least to keep the Kystal fanboys from writing protest petitions to Nintendo, a midquel between SF64 and SFA. But if they use one of Command's endings or make it a sequel to Assault, then.... No, better not think of it, Command is now considered non-canon anyways. DX A remix of the SNES soundtrack would be awesome, but that most likely won't happen, at the very least we may get a remix of the SNES Corneria theme though. If they end up using SF64 music, I do hope they remix the planet songs in rock/synth style like the SNES games. Something like this for example:
conaly
Hi, and my car license plate reads "ARWING." Cool, my plate reads FOX (and some numbers) :D
CrypticQuery
Offtopic: I've always wanted to get a LNDMSTR vanity plate, though the upkeep costs don't justify the laughs IMO. That, and if you're ever trying to be covert it will ruin your chances.

Ghieri
I definitely like the idea of Retro Studios making a StarFox game. I really enjoyed the Metroid Prime trilogy and it's easy to see the quality and passion put into those games.... and that's exactly what the StarFox series need right now: a developer that really puts all the necessary time and effort into the project until they create a quality product anyone can appreciate, even if they don't know or like the previous installments or don't appreciate the overall concept of the series. DZComposer
I don't think SFAs damaged the canon that much. I also think the damage done by SFAd can be fixed with some well-thought-out retcons. SFC, though, was an all-out canon clusterfuck. But in the end, I really don't care about the canon's issues that much. Yes, it would be nice if they fixed them, but If they do the gameplay right, I'm in for sure regardless.
Drasiana
Yes, tit would be nice if they fixed them DZ, tits are the only reason people even PLAY the games half the time... edit: realpost SFAs killed Pigma, played out Oikonny's rebellion, killed/maimed Pepper and totally reversed Star Wolf's role. It was not negligible to the story. It also took the characters' personalities down an inconsistant path...even a "fix" of their personalities at this point would look like another inconsistancy.
unoservix
oh wow that was an awkward epiphany to have just now but you know what i am pretty sure there is no longer any distinction being made here between "canon" and "fanon"
Drasiana
I wouldn't really count "major character death" as "fanon", though I'm not sure if Pepper actually did die in the Japanese version or if that was just a rumour (the Great Fox exploded though!) Command isn't in a canonical state right now so I don't think "Pigma's alive, he's just a flying cube in space!" counts, and if it did, Pigma is a flying cube in space and that is reason alone to retcon everything on the spot
unoservix
but "killing Pigma, playing out Oikonny's rebellion, killing/maiming Pepper and totally reversing Star Wolf's role" is all "canon" now, to the extent that you can even talk about a "canon" in Star Fox (and the idea that people try is one that fills me with all kinds of mirth) so you're just going to have to deal with it. what's "canon" in Star Fox is what the people who write Star Fox say is "canon." if what they say is inconsistent, well, you can either hold your breath waiting for the game that turns all your fan theories into "canon" and reboots the whole story, or you can try to work out the inconsistencies as much as possible.
