Ellanie
Nintendo unleashed their second batch of games for 3DS early adopters this morning, so it's worth firing up the handheld if you fall into that category. Go into your settings in the shop and look at previous downloads. The new games pop up at the end of the list as if you bought them, so you can download them for free. I think the overall selection is much better for this GBA batch, but I think it may be my age talking there. Although having some of the originals of certain franchises is definitely nice, I never could understand why Wrecking Crew was gifted, but not Kid Icarus. As for the new batch, I think the only game that may not get much love is Mario VS Donkey Kong, but this will be the first proper Kirby and F-Zero game I've gotten my hands on. (And, upon second thought, that's kind of sad.) I still wish Golden Sun had been given, but they will likely drop in later. So, anyone else excited or disappointed? ETA; The Nintendo Ambassador Games for the curious. August Batch, all NES games; Super Mario Brothers Metroid The Legend of Zelda Wrecking Crew NES Open Tournament Golf Donkey Kong Jr. Balloon Fight Ice Climber Zelda II - The Adventures of Link Yoshi December Batch, all GBA games; F-Zero Maximum Velocity Mario Kart: Super Circuit Wario Land 4 Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 Metroid Fusion WarioWare, Inc: Mega Microgame$ Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap All twenty are great games, but I do think the GBA set is of higher quality over all, but again, I may feel that way just because the NES was before my time. I was also a Sega kid in my early years, so go figure. I've hardly touched them, but have already tore into the new ones. Good luck on your exam, the games will still be there when you get back.
Fluxy
I saw this. Then got happy. Then remembered I have many multiple ways to play each and every one of these games. Then I got sad and remembered why I want mah money~ Either way, they at least picked some of the nicer highlights to add to the system downloadables, but... Mehhhhh. Still not made up really yet. Specially if the day comes where anyone can download it onto their 3ds. I don't doubt some nerd out there has already figured it out, and soon will be completely leaked, if it has not already. Only reason I wouldn't know is because I have been a hermit for quite sometime. Yes it is nice in my little shell...
Ellanie
That's kind of a moot point, though, isn't it? I think it's pretty unfair to say that 20 free games from Nintendo is pointless since someone will be bound to pirate them. Most gamers wouldn't do that and Nintendo would brick the system in a second if you did, which is a total waste. However, I do agree that if you don't have any interest in the games given, (which I, personally, wouldn't have bought... any of them, actually, so I'm in that camp) it may not make up for the amount of money spent. I do appreciate the fact that Nintendo didn't leave us high and dry, and I do look forward to trying the games, as I may actually like a few, and free is still free. I give them credit for trying. I do believe most of the games are Ambassador exclusives, too. Currently, they all are, but I'll have to look that up!
