Fluxy
Well, It definitely could use work, but you're still getting used to your tablet, right? I'd simply say just keep going forward, get better with it as well as how you want your comic to go and it'll end up wonderful! Also, the kid who went in and attacked the masked man. Why does he have a mask and that weird smile at the end too?
Quoux
Ah, thank you for the understanding! The way I really want to make the comic is in that black and white traditional way, however I'd rather use my tablet than paper because the quality is "better", unfortunately it's harder to make lines clean with the tablet. Oh, it will explain why he is like that in the next page :3 stay tuned, hehehe.
Fluxy
Yeah, I really dislike line art which is why I don't waste too much time on 'Fancy' line art work anymore. I've been working on it lately, but this topic isn't about me! Tablet's take a while to adjust to. Something to get used to it is by using thicker lines. It's easier to work with, and helps ease you into it. Then working down to more 'finer/thinner' brush sizes if that's what you want to end up using. And I'm not sure if you posted it somewhere, but which program are you using? Cause I know with Photoshop at least you can make selections with the Lasso tool and use some commands under the 'Edit' option to help alter something so you don't have to go through the trouble of completely redoing something. Last little thing; Awesome! Just was curious if it was supposed to be like that or not, so good to know!
Quoux
Haha, ya line art is killer, I can't picture stuff that well without shading :'(. No no, it's fine I feel you bro. Hmm, thicker lines, eh? I never thought about that! I must give it a try at once! I'm using photoshop. I think I'd rather use SAI but I don't want to buy that nor do I know where to initiate said purchasing. And in regards to using photoshop, I have been using the free transform w/ lasso fairly often, however that's about all I've been using for it :b I haven't experimened with the other commands yet. Fluxy
Yeah, the thicker lines is like... Mostly an 'inner eye' thing. I, for one, am really picky about my line art, so I sometimes use thicker lines to make it look 'nicer' since with the pen pressure, it's a bit easier to manage, in my opinion. All I know is it works for me, might not for you, but either way it's simply a stepping stone for me to get more comfortable with using mostly thin lines. And those commands are typically the ones I use if I need to. Rarely do I use 'Perspective' or 'Warp' in the other transformation tools, so that should be pretty good. And I know a lot of people have been getting SAI for free, actually. I've been meaning to look into it to see if I like it or not. I'll be sure to PM you about any information I find on it. Quoux
Hmm, I think you are right about that inner eye thing. Either way it seems to be a good idea! Really? Free SAI? That's crazy, ya pm me if you find out! Also, here is page two in it's creepy goodness.
Fluxy
Huh. It's pretty bold to make this sorta start, in my opinion, in a comic. If you have a set mental plot/plan for how things are going to go, it could work out really well with such a dynamic start to this comic. Either way I trust the next pages will easily not disappointing! And I'm glad the advice is somewhat helping then!
Quoux
Oh, yeah I have most of it planned out. Unfortunately I can't transfer it directly from my head onto the screen, but that would make the whole process 10 times faster!( And cleaner). Also it would be animated. Yeah, big time! I find that those lines make it easy to practice with. Also, here's a pic. He is another main character in the comic. His name is Yuko, and he is really self-confident about his swordsman skills. However, he actually is a pretty good swordsman. This isn't exactly how he looks but it is close enough for now.
Quoux
And page 3. More creepy goodness Huh, so that's what happened to Andrew from Chronicle...
Quoux
Another random character from State of Mind for the time being; His name is Kirukko, and he possessed a demon. Well, technically, a demon tried to possess him, but it failed because Kirukko was stronger and therefore reverse possessed it. Now, Kirukko controls the demon's powers and can transgress into demon form with his free will intact. However, when he becomes angry or passionate about something, the demon possessing him gains more control. His nickname is Kir-Kir, something Princess Titania started calling him, too his dismay and annoyance. Yeah so we don't see him anytime soon in the comic, but it's just a little teaser so to speak. The picture of him is when he is in a minor stage of demon form, normally he would be completely black like his wings. while not in demon form, he has no wings. The chains are from when the kingdom he was in imprisoned him for coming in contact with the demon. When his trial found him guilty, he freaked and broke out of captivity, simultaneously destroying the courtroom and the surrounding buildings for a one mile radius. Quoux
New page of my comic. Page 4, woohoo! I think I may be getting better at comic book style. If only if I wasn't so lazy...
