(Hello all and welcome at long last to the official start of the highly anticipated Saurian Adventure, or as I like to call it, the "Significantly Less Shitty Starfox Adventures RP". Don't forget to follow the rules as stated in the request thread (located here: http://starfox-onlin...entures-the-rp/ ), and above all else, have fun! If you have ANY questions or concerns at ALL, PM me without hesitation!)

The Story So Far...

The Lylat System has been at peace for eight years, now. Planets have rebuilt, old wounds have been healed, and Corneria sits at the seat of prosperity in the system. Scientific advancements have accelerated greatly, and the greatest of those has been the discovery of an isolated planet on the edge of Lylatian space. Populated by dinosaur-like races, it has been dubbed Sauria by the top minds researching it. Many things have been discovered and news rapidly spread across the world, and Sauria has become a raging buzz for all of the people in the system. Their language deciphered, their cultures documented, and flora and fauna cataloged, it was almost utopian.

Almost.

Several months ago, war broke out among the tribes of Sauria. The vicious and marauding Sharpclaw tribe, led by the ruthless General Scales, had always been a thorn in the peaceful dinosaur's lives, but now things have escalated. He has defeated armies of the ruling Earthwalker and Cloudrunner tribes, and his campaigns finally subjugated the planet. However, Corneria refused to intervene, not wanting to disrupt the natural history no matter how grim it may be. At least, that's how it was at first.

Within weeks of the Sharpclaw victories, Sauria started to show large amounts of geological anomalies. The entire planet became unstable, with entire chunks violently tearing off and drifting into space! The phenomenon baffled even the most brilliant of minds, as it defied every known law of science! Try as they could, no solution or explanation could be found, and now Sauria's condition threatens all of Lylat! The time for action has come. Now, on board the most prestigious of Sauria's orbital stations, the M.S.S., Captain Robert Monroe seeks to form an elite team of specialists from all corners of Lylat to land planetside and investigate the situation personally, and find a solution to the crisis at hand.

That's where YOU come in. Your dossier has been submitted by General Pepper for review and accepted by Robert Monroe for evaluation. You and others like you are now on-board a private Cornerian defense force shuttle en route to the M.S.S. to see if you're really the stuff needed to save the system. Good luck, and godspeed!

(Ok I'll be the first I guess?)

Ea sat silently in the shuttle trying to keep calm. She watched as others passed by her from time-to-time. She didn't know many people on the mission, and she didn't feel like talking to any of them.

This was the biggest mission she had ever embarked on. Bigger than any task she had been assigned before. She was determined not to fail.

She fiddled with the zipper on her flight suit, too nervous to think of doing anything else

It's all going to be fine She reassured herself.

Freyr's heel nervously patted repetitively against the ferrosteel floor of the transport glancing around the cabin at the fellow recruits. Most of them seemed smaller than himself, making him feel as if he stuck out from the crowd.

Maybe I signed up for the wrong kind of mission here, thought Freyr casting his gaze down at the floor in thought

Not like I knew what I was getting into, I was just bored with fixing the same old crap for the city transit. Get a breath of fresh air I 'spose - maybe there could be some neat stuff to loot for myself.

Freyr stretched and flexed his back out, rotating his head around to pop his neck and take a casual look around.

Figure I best find out if anyone else knows what we are in for...

"Sooooo...." he begins with an awkward facial expression, "anyone know what kind of shindig we are getting into? Any...uh...rough situations?" Casting another glance around his comparatively petite comrades.

"It's something to do with a science team, right?" Eurydice replied. She also was looking around the shuttle looking at her comrades in the mission. She had gotten sort of used to working alone so the team was nice. "We should..." She cut off as she realized she was slouching and fidgeted trying to sit up straight. "Ahem. We should introduce ourselves at least. My name is Eurydice. Eurydice Green. I'm a bounty hunter." She said trying to break the ice.

Freyr looks at Eurydice measuring her up

One of the stronger ones, always good to have a few of them for anything...but...

"A science team?" Queries the jackal. "Bit of a odd crowd to gather for just some research. The name's Freyr, I work on Corneria's mass transit maintenance and construction crew."

Best not throw everything out there, yet.

To Gene, the tension and anxiety coming from a few of the others on the crowded and utilitarian military transport was physically palpable. Despite the cramped quarters, uncomfortable seating, the hum of the ship's engines, and the aforementioned stress Gene could sense, the redfox was a picture of calmness. Gene sat near the middle, one leg up on his knee, arms folded taught across his front, tail wrapped casually in his lap, and ears flat, out and relaxed, and head hung slightly with eyes closed, as if he was asleep sitting up. While Gene appeared completely detached from his surroundings, he covertly appraised the people around him with his aura sense.

Gene was never for crowds or cramped places. While Gene could tune down and filter out what he could feel from others' auras, the tight quarters of tense emotion still made Gene on edge on the inside. Gene naturally reflected part of the mood of others around him and all this high-strung activity was not helping Gene's focus. Out of all the auras Gene felt, only one piqued his interest, only one he felt a significant power from, and something about it didn't feel right. However Gene dismissed his unease as emotional noise.

While still looking asleep, Gene spoke up, "Not all research is laboratories and experiments in beakers. The situation where our mission is... unstable as it is delicate, from what I have gathered from inside souces. Much too fragile to have the military's dogs handle it, much too important to let lie any longer. So, here we are gathered, to fix a problem that has been left alone too long."

Guys... First of all... I am currently on a shuttle en route to where I and a few others will be making history... And, uh... Whooooooooooo! I am too excited! I am too goddamn excited. I just want to start by thanking Robert Monroe for seeing something in me and allowing me to be a part of this... Thank you General Pepper for submitting my resume... Thank you Mrs. Birdsong, my career adviser for telling me about this opportunity and helping me take the steps to get where I was good enough to even apply for this... Just thanks to EVERYONE for supporting me and giving me the strength to go for this...

But anyway, I just wanted to stop in and give you guys an update and tell you about what's been going on... What. it's been about a week since my last video blog, right? Yeah... And I also wanted to do this because I don't too much of exactly know if I'm allowed to be doing this, you know, playing with a recording device during this mission? It might be a little unprofessional... What I'm trying to say is that I wanted to give you guys an update before me possibly going off the grid when and if, for whatever reason, I can't keep you guys posted on my progress

Amelia looked away from the camera and pursed her lips, contemplating on what else to say. Then she got an idea.

Hold on a moment...

She leaned out of the frame before returning with a red tube of some sort. She twisted the end of the object and pulled out an applicator wand, which was a small brush-like doohickey covered in a sparkly red translucent gel. Leaning closer to the camera, she looked down slightly, viewing herself in the playback screen as she carefully painted on the Deep Cherry lip gloss she purchased from Max Renda. After she finished, she wiped the corners of her mouth, ensuring perfection.

She looked into the camera and chuckled before speaking again.

Guys, you know how I do, so don't act so surprised.

Putting the applicator back into the tube, she leaned off screen once again and returned with a black tube. Leaning into the camera and looking down at the playback screen, she took the applicator out of the tube and began combing the mascara into her lashes over her left eye. Then she abruptly stopped to speak.

--Oh! Guys... Or rather, girls... Or guys too--I don't judge. Um, I just want to let you know about Max Renda make-up. My friend, Amber, she turned me onto this. She actually an endorser for the company. And she gave me this whole care package of... awesome shit, and, you know, I had all kinds of lip colors, glosses--And those lip colors and lip glosses? Those are TOTALED. They're DONE. I went to work on them. Soon as I got my shit, I popped off the top and tore up the streets! You KNOW how I do!

For dramatic effect, she rolled her eyes and flipped her hair over her shoulder.

But back to what I was talking about, Max Renda, it's a little expensive, but they use natural colors and pigments, natural fragrances, it's organic, and though the prices can be a little steep but I recommend that you try it, and if the price isn't killing you, you'll love it. I promise.

She returned to her task of doing her eye lashes. As she carefully, meticulously, and painstakingly combed apart each lash, she continued talking about whatever...

...Yeah, um... Amber, she was, like, "yes bitch, you'll love it" and "it'll give you all natural realness" and blah blah blah. And she sent me a care package, got me all types of coupons and vouchers, and I was like "Shit, hellz yeah!"

After applying her mascara, she twisted the wand back into the tube and proceeded to inspect herself in the playback screen. Mascara: check. Lip color: check. Hair: just push it behind her shoulders a bit and part the bangs perfectly and... check.

...But anyway guys, I'm getting ready to do this mission... And, I don't know what shenanigans are in store, but we are about to go in. So with that being said, I've got to sign off. I'll keep you guys posted if I can!

The video blog session lasted for about seven minutes. She did make an effort to keep her voice down so as not to disturb anyone else around her. Initially, she'd done it to fill in a space, something to do since no one had been speaking. Usually, Amelia liked to break the ice, but she was a bit nervous which was unlike her. In any case, when someone did break the silence, she decided to wrap things up so as not to be rude and become part of the conversation. Honestly, she still didn't know what to say, so she just introduced herself

"Um... Is anyone other than me a scientist?"

Ea shyly glanced at Eurydice,

"I'm....Ea....Ea Redd. I don't really have a whole lot of use around here...."

Her words made her think back to her injury. The pain and the hardship. She vowed she wouldn't let anyone suffer the same as her. She stood up and began wandering to examine the others around her.

Somewhat dismayed by the answer, Freyr turned to the calm fox [Gene]. Something about him seemed strange, he was nothing like the others - lacking any apparent emotion that seemed to betray an utter lack of concern or overwhelming confidence in their uncertain future.

"Seems like you might be a bit more aware of what we are bout to get into, stranger. What kind of problems have been left to lie too long?" As he hunches over and rests himself against his knees. An inert but sudden amount of focus flashing behind his eyes with the thought of danger and the rush he gained from it. "Military may be slow and clumsy, but they sure have a lot more resources to throw at a problem than us. Figure we are in over our heads?"

Things just got a lot more interesting...

No one was talking to him yet, so he didn't need to talk to any of them. Speak only when directly spoken to. Worked well enough so far.

No one should talk to me anyways. Too busy putting on makeup and making blogs. ...This transport is nice enough. Bigger than what I had back in the day. It's good not having to be hip-to-hip with your partners anymore.

Manthony let out a chuckle.

Oh, that takes me back. Going to Fortuna with Murray...

The lizard smiled and proceded to lose himself in memories.

Ryan sat in his seat reading his Bible, tuneing out the conversation of the others.

He had no intention of talking nor did he want to be talked to. He perfered the company of his own thoughts rather then other people.

(Sorry it took me so long to reply, internet was out yesterday)

Quietness abound save the skittish Ea Redd, the girly scientist and constructor Freyr. "This is what Doggy would call, 'a tough room' isn't it?" Eurydice thought to herself. She started, " It's nice to meet you, Ea. What are you signed up here for?" She trailed a bit off as Ea started to wander a bit. OK then. She then addresses Freyr and the scientist, " Anyways, I don't know who else in this shuttle is a scientist. Mr. Freyr here does construction but that's not the same, eh? If you are the only scientist here, you should be safe Miss...?" Eurydice waits for a name from the scientist.

Axle sat in the corner, He'd signed up for the mission, but not with some cat! Most carnivores he could live with, but cats....he shuddered. The eagle and lizard he had seen were bad enough. He stood up, clearly smaller in size to most of the team, but his body language demand attention.

Cutting Fedora short axle stated, " Figured I'd introduce my'self, Axle, or Ajc which ever you'd like. I believe I was hired on to the team to service as our path finder. Do any of you fine beasts know where the Captain Monroe is?" Axle had no desire to make chat, he wanted accesses to information about Sauria no doubt the ship had entire logs of it in its data base. He didn't want to be caught browsing Cornerian data bases with out permission. "Relax you'll get what you need." He sat back in his chair clearly comfortable, he smiled. "What a nice seat"

A quick bark of a laugh escapes Freyr before he brings it back under control turning towards Eurydice.

"No...I wouldn't dare call myself a scientist. Those guys designed the things I worked on - I just put them together and keep them working." said Freyr with a sort of wink. "Don't suppose we will be running into any rogue and malicious subway hovercarts wherever we are going though, so fat chance i'll be of too much use there...We'll see though. Luckily there is more than one use for this baby." continues Freyr, running his hand down a very large adjustable wrench attached to his belt.

The crude laugh shook ajc out of ecstasy. He looked at the source of the disturbance to find the giant jackal. He frowned stating " You,er, Freyr is it? Tell me what Corneria like?" If he couldn't get rest he'd at least like a good story, and out off all the planets in the Lylat System Corneria and Sauria were the only two he had not visited.

Turning to the smallest member of the crew, Axle, Freyr responded, "Ah, its a living, not much beyond that. The "Grind" I like to call it most days. It's a bit odd, for a global city full of people every corner you look, it seems so dull to me and mind numbing. Skyscrapers everywhere cloud out the stars and sun way too much and too many rules and people telling ya how to live your life... Night life kind of fun though in the right parts of town - mean pizza joints too." A gentle chuckle escaping his muzzle leaving a small lingering smile as he paused for inflection.

"I honestly haven't even lived on Corneria for very long, just made my way there for a change of scenery and find some better...more stable, work." Eyes narrowing just a bit, the smile fading. "So what line of work are you into Axle? I can kind of pin some of the people on this sardine can with what they have to offer but you're one of the ones I can't figure out - no offense"

"Cimmaron, but I go by Amelia... And, thank you. That's good to know." She was about to ask of the woman's name when some little guy--Aw, isn't he cute? Amelia thought endearingly--stood up and made a presidential introduction. Axel, or Acj, whichever we preferred to call him, wasn't kidding around; he was ready for liftoff. He did ask where Robert Monroe was, at which point, Amelia began to wonder the same thing. Before anyone was able to answer him, he sat down almost as soon as he got up. Amelia thought that was a little odd... But, okay. If everyone else was just as interesting, she'd have fun.

"So, um..." Amelia turned back to the woman she was speaking to. "...I didn't get your name. What was it?"

As the passengers conversed inside the shuttle's cabin, a voice chimed in over the intercom.

"Attention, this is your pilot speaking. We will be arriving at the Monroe Science Station (M.S.S.) within the hour. Please remain seated and thank you for your patience."

With that, the intercom sounded out, leaving the passengers to their discussions.

(Just a minor update post, nothing's changed. However, if you haven't posted yet, I wish you would! Also, Corneria isn't a city-world. It has a large farming/agriculture lifestyle outside the metros... but I suppose Freyr doesn't know any better :D)

Ryans ears perked to the sound of the pilots voice over the intercom but his eyes never left his book. The mouse, Axle, question intrested him because he to wanted to meet Robert Monroe.

"None taken," ajc smiled. " What I do isn't much of a career, a job, or a proffesion. It's a life style. The bit of money I do make is escorting expeditions to fairly "dangerous" locations. Most o' my days spent simply traveling though." He frowned, " Little embarrassing actualy that I havn't the slightest clue what life on Corneria is like." He hid it, but there was somthing real he liked about this jackel. He didn't bring that high flutent attitude that Cornerians so often have.

Axle looked around to the other crew, "Hm, i hope i don't end up baby sitting these beasts, the pather looks as if he could hold is own. But that fox or Amelia look like the have never left home."

Just a little longer and I can get out of this tincan of a transport. Gene's ears turned down and out at his mild annoyance. Gene allowed himself to slouch as he tuned out the conversation around him. A point raised earlier also raised Gene's curiosity. Why are we here? What is the purpose of this gathering? And why is the military incapable of solving the problem themselves? Gene asked himself several question. Dealing regularly with people and always knowing people had something to hide made Gene always question things. To take a step back and puzzle out the larger scope of events beyond the immediate.

To Gene, his purpose was only somewhat clear. He knew off hand that Sauria had many, many, deep connections to magic. Mechanics and technology never overtook the mystical energies on that world, unlike Corneria or Titania. Those with extraordinary perceptions to the mystical energies could sense the whole planet falling out of balance long before the events that unfolded to bring him and all the others here. This was something that could not be solved by mundane means. Could not be solved by the blunt, overbearing, mundane farce that is the CDF.

So here Gene was. Part of a relatively small team. Assembled to fix the imbalance that is Sauria. Now it is just a matter of one last final bit of waiting to see how it all starts.

"My name is Eurydice. Eurydice Green." She replied, once again performing her signature introduction. "At this point, I think you're the only scientist here indeed." Eurydice frowned a bit. With everyone here, they had more like a strike team than a science team. Her senses told her excrement was about to hit the proverbial fan but she didn't know when.

Still, back to the present. "So if you're a scientist what exactly is your field? And what with that thing you had earlier? Do you always speak to your compact?" (Yes, Eurydice is unaware as to what Amelia was doing let alone blogging)

"And Ea," Eurydice remembered Ea was still in the conversation, " What are you here for exactly? You say you're not going to be much help but you were chosen for this team for a reason, right?" She asked. Ea must be selling herself short here.

It would be about now that a younger fox would make his presence known with a small cough, setting down the book he was reading and casting a disinterested glance around the room before going back to his fiction novel. Just another group of mercinaries, I guess... Talk about a ragtag team. He grumbled incoherently as he flipped a page.

I know i'm just experimental, but does the Doctor honestly expect me to cooperate with these guys? I certainly hope not... they make me uneasy.

He sighed. It didn't really matter, not yet anyway. this was just the trial stage, wether or not he made it into this operation depended on how Mr.Monroe graded him compared to the others.

Another experiment... and nothing more.

What he didn't let on to even to himself, is that there was another reason he was doing this, why he even accepted this ludicrious operation. The thought bubbled past the core of his thoughts into his consious mind.

It's been happening for a while.. I could feel it, as well as hear it. The planet, Sauria, right? It's been... crying out for a long time now.

Still he said nothing, finding no use in talking to them.

"--Huh? My compact?" Amelia was perplexed by Eurydice's question, but it immediately dawned on her. "...Oh! That. I was doing a video blog. It's a hobby of mine. I've been doing it since high school. More than anything, it's a way for me to keep track of my own life... And as far as what my field of study is? I'm mainly in geology. I'm hoping to figure out how and why Sauria is breaking apart the way it is."

(Per Milky's request due to some real life stressed, his character will not be present on board the shuttle! Therefore, it seems everyone has posted, however I will likely be unable to update tonight, so you have until Saturday to finish your conversations! Sorry for the rough start but that's how life is sometimes, yeah?)
